How will the Imperial City work ?

@ZOS have finally decided to inform us about upcoming content.

One of the brand new features is the fallen capital city of Tamriel : The Imperial City.
BUT, a question comes up. How will it work ? We already know that's going to be both PVP and PVE (watch the trailer) but how will it work ?
Are different factions going to conquer bits of the city ? What happens if an Alliance conquers all of the Imperial City ?

    Probably has checkbox on Customer Service profile that say High Aggro, 99% immunity to BS

    beside that its announced to be similar to DAoC´s "Darknessfalls". in other words we have nothing but words wich are felxible up to the point where they are pure lies, but unless its on the testserver no "worthwhile" knowledge...

    There isnt much information, but vendors with new PVP gears. I think the plan is to remove VR and take advantage from veteran players and bring new advantage to them via gears. This is me guessing I could be wrong.

    I myself am curious how it will work. If there are no "safe" areas, they are going to really have to give me a reason that is so OP and impossible to get otherwise, or I simply won't buy it as it will serve no use to *my* play style...time will tell
    If options weren't necessary, and everyone played the same way, no one would use addons. Fix the UI!

    Basically you know those broken bridges that are often between two keeps that enter into the city, based on what has been said in the past your faction will need to hold one of those bridges by claiming the two keeps jnear it

    So before you get in you must get control of a bridge, and maintaine those keeps or from the sounds of it get trapped inside without backup!

    I wonder if it will be sorta of like Warhammers online city seiges. Just with 3 factions and different mechanics but somewhat similar. If it is even somewhat similar ill be happy.

    How about we remove as many of the exploiter's or their ill gotten pvp levels and gear, first. Then enter the Imperial City on a level playing field.

    These are the things that we already know about Imperial City, assuming none of them have changed in the last few months:

    Imperial Districts
    • The Imperial City has 6 districts, all of which are PvP areas

      • This seems to involve going into Coldharbour
      • With no defence, these districts will eventually revert to NPC enemy control
      • Owning a district provides a passive bonus (probably AP and XP) and the ability to respawn there
    • Each district has a series of (probably repeatable) PvE quests
    • Each district contains a shrine to a Divine which provides some sort of buff
    Imperial Prison
    • A Group Dungeon, unknown whether it will be PvE only
    Other Stuff
    • Skyshards (probably 9)
    • An Imperial City main quest
    • Crafting sites with new set bonuses
    • Caches of Imperial and Daedric goods
    • White-Gold Tower dungeon, but possibly not when IC is released
