Dear ZOS, feel the angry glares of Master Anglers...

So we slogged through the times the achievements were impossible, we slogged through waterlogged regions devoid of fishing holes, we searched for that single spot of foul water, we repeatedly killed the World Boss in Reaper's March so we could get to it, we burnt over 9,000 bait searching for that 12th fish in at least one region and we shivered nervously near the yellow gate where some 'bright spark' put the only ocean in Cyrodiil... and we survived... we got the coveted title and the nauseating colour...

We were done, we hung up our rods and gave away our bait...

And now... AND NOW... you drop in a recipe which requires me not only to fish again but is inevitably going to have a terrible refine rate so you can maximise crown shop purchases!

At least have the decency to allow us to 'refine' more than one fish at a time!!!

I feel I can speak for at least one angry Master Angler when I say... arrrgggHHHH!

    Perfect Roe can be found by fishing. Every time you skin a non-trophy fish, you obtain fish meat. However, you will now also have a small chance to obtain Perfect Roe.

    RECIPE FRAGMENTS - yes, you are correct.

    ROE comes from fish.

    does it not say that frost mirriam and bervez juice can be found from writs? and I did not say anything about the recipe pieces.

    That is correct, frost mirriam and bervez juice can only come from writs and hirelings... it has always been thus.

    You get the recipe fragments from writs, yes.

    The Perfect Roe ingredient comes from fishing.

    @jamesharv2005ub17_ESO, @Yakidafi has it right.

    The only way to get Roe is from fishing. It's a rare ingredient and will not be found laying about in a container. (Just as the other two rare ingredients only come from writs/hirleings)

    Since there are no fishing hirelings, you're either casting for it, or you're paying someone else to.

    ZOS should definetly do it.
    And they have to offer to account 1000 crowns just for creating 2nd toon.
    Or finishing Cadwell's Gold for the first time.
    @Leggi , you saved 4000 fish?
    Yep. I have 8 toons to play, so 20 inv spaces is not that much.

    Even if it was available from writs and hirelings, who would sit and wait for one to show up for weeks if they can go out fishing for it instead?

    Here is the quote from the patch notes, read it carefully when you get to the paragraph about ingredients. It is quite clear that roe comes from filleting fish.

    Psijic Ambrosia has three ingredients required to make it: Frost Mirriam, Bervez Juice, and Perfect Roe. Frost Mirriam and Bervez Juice are both existing ingredients used in a variety of high-end purple foods and drinks; they can only be found by completing Provisioner Writs or by receiving them from your Hireling. Perfect Roe is brand-new, however, and (at least for the moment) used only in the crafting of Psijic Ambrosia.
    Perfect Roe can be found by fishing. Every time you skin a non-trophy fish, you obtain fish meat. However, you will now also have a small chance to obtain Perfect Roe.

    @Epona222 , he's not grasping that this particular recipe, and the one key ingredient it requires is rather exceptional.

    But I'll be waiting for that screenshot.

    Assuming that a brand new type of item that has never been in the game before (and that we already know can be found in a fashion that no item in the game has been found before) can be obtained in the same way as other items when there's absolutely no evidence of that... Well, you're just assuming that for no reason. The patch notes give absolutely no indication that perfect roe will ever come from a hireling or writ. The only method they mention of obtaining perfect roe is a small chance when filleting a fish. In fact, given that they specifically mention the other items for the recipe as being obtainable from provisioning writs, and given that they don't say that perfect roe is obtainable in that manner, it's highly unlikely that you can get it from writs.

    Under most circumstances I'd agree with you. However fishing in ESO isn't really a grind, it's outright abuse, lol.
