Removing Templar Class

Its clear by now that they don't want to work on fixing it for some reason, so why keep this useless class in the game?

I'm talking about PvP, not lousy RPG. And even in PvE using a 5 piece light armor set (since ZOS forced templars not to use full light armor sets anymore) has proven to be fatal, in PvP heh... VR2's can one hit V14 light armor templars.
Id like to introduce you to Minerva Dionysis, my v14 5/1/1 LA focused templar. With sword and shield equipped, and using my magicka regen gear, I promise you if I came and tanked any instance for you, youd always want me to do it. (With channeled focus on and using blazing shield, I have 30k spell resists, 20k physical, and about 32k hitpoints counting the shields). A low stamina pool is a nonissue for trash w/repentance, and vs a single boss that hits very hard i simply time my blocks for the big hits or things that will knock me down and just absorb everything else.
All i gotta do is swap gear and skills around for any role. I prefer healing though, as thats what the toon is primarily made for.
DPS 12k (single target sustain, 30k execute range) with one setup (spell damage)
Healer/Tank with the other setup. (magicka regen)
Primarily a PvP build, also. Designed most for group play, but ive taken her out solo and she has wrecked a fair share of would-be gankers and duelists.

LOL! I get 10-12K dps on my magicka based Templar. You just need to figure the class and game mechanics out[Hard Mode Dungeoneers] is recruiting all players of all levels for this new Guild.

Heavy Magicka Temps with Sword Shild (like DKs) Are pretty Strong, well somebody say OP in PVP.
Extrem dmg Migration, good dmg outputt (not like sorcs or nb, but they miss the Migration over all)
BTW a sorc or nb with full magica or Stamina can onhit all light or medium class if they dont use nirnhorned.#makemagickadkgreataigan

Thankfully you're in luck though. For when creating a character you have the option to choose another class, there are actually four in the game. If Templar is not to your liking, perhaps one of the other three will be.If you can be anything, be kind.0 -

I had to reread this a few times to make sure I read this correctly. 6K DPS? LOL. I could do that with a simple Crushing Shock build. Fortunately my Templar (magicka spec) pulls 18-20K+ DPS on average. Those who believe that templars are good:
1. Playing PvE
2. Playing PvP stamina templars with 1-2 class skills on 12 skill slots.
3. Just a zergers who hides in zerg and spam either RD or BoL button.
And since PvE templars are super good, ZOS just doesn't care about any fixes.1 -

For the record, can do 15k on DPS testing with my magicka templar while a stamina templar guildie can hit 18k+ with his.
An ex-guild leader in PvP is a templar and regularly used to be Emperor and very effective when played nicely, so the class is a viable PvP build for those who know how to play it properly.The Legendary Nothing1 -

Light armor affects all classes equally in terms survivability. Being a templar in light armor is no different than being one of the other classes in light armor.

ugh, every MMO has these types of people i guess. i don't know why i expected ESO to be different than wow, but i did. i am a foolish man. i remember in WOW, one of the patches (during cata i believe...) nerfed Fury Warriors, which i was, and i was maaaad. i insisted that they made the class unviable for endgame raiding, that it just wasn't possible to put out enough dps anymore. then, on a raid, i looked at the top dps, it was a fury warrior. i'm sure that isn't usually the case, especially when arcane mages were easy mode, but it proved that it was totally possible to put out the necessary damage IF YOU PLAY YOUR CLASS RIGHT. it was a humbling moment.
the thing is though, not everyone has that type of humility and introspection so we end up with posts like this one. and no matter how many people tell him he's wrong, no matter how many pages of stats you throw at him (or her, i guess, let's be fair) there will be no changing their mind.
OT: from what i've seen, templars are the most viable healing class and should definitely NOT be axed. i was surprised to learn that with the proper build, my beloved Nightblade could be a dps-based healer. i won't go there until i'm more skilled, but it's a cool option to have.You can't see me. Grundiin✭✭I like my templar. Still just lvl 15, but i'm enjoying myself really much. Played all classes at least once, and my favorites so far is DK and Temp.It sucks when your at 2nd place in PvP, and your alliance gets all 6 keeps.

It is not the class there is the problem for you. It is the nerf to light armor and the abundance of nirnhorned armor that causes the problem.
You could try to get a nirnhorned staff and nirnhorned on your lesser armor pieces and remember to spam your blazing shield. But that is just a stopgap meassure, you need to develop a new strategy for your char. No one can just spam a few abilities anymore and be successful in pvp.0 -

You're actually saying that all classes are equally affected by wearing light, when templars have 0 mobility and 0 escapes. Do you even PvP?
Light armor sorcerer with a 13-15k dmg absorbing shield, 40% speed buff + armor and Bolt Escape has about 100% more survivability than a light armor templar, for example. You're typing random stuff, without looking at facts. It's misleading for new players. Things like class skills and passives matters, it makes a difference when it comes to what build you can rock in PvP.
Topic: Yes, templars are great in PvE, probably the most useful class in the game when it comes to slaying dragons in a group.
But if you're only into competitive PvP...I know you're playing another class right now lol.
It's not that templar sucks, rather about how ZoS isn't taking full responsibility for PvP meta. They make drastic changes to game play and effective builds every major patch, without considering how it effects class balance, without re-tweaking class skills and passives to fit in.
Templars where strong in PvP between patch 1.3-1.5, mainly because defensive sustain builds ruled. Templar had synergy with that playstyle. But today or since patch 1.6 you need other builds to be good. That is max mobility, escapes, burst, stupid proof cc and cheesy tricks. This is something templar cant pull of as well as NB or sorc. Nerf to a few of our best skills, heals and shields, didn't help either.
