Why on earth can a level 4 mob knock a level 22 off their mount?

Its starting to get really annoying every time I leave daggerfall a level 4 mob knocks me off my mount! Every single other mmorpg that I played if your 10 levels above the mob they don't aggro!

Train stamina on riding at the stable then they can't knock you off as fast.

Well, this may be news to you, but this is in fact not every other mmorpg you've played. Its actually a different game altogether!

In all seriousness, if your horse is out of stamina one hit will knock you off. Either avoid the mobs, hop off to fight them really quick, or invest in stamina riding lessons (although I wouldn't really advise this, as the speed and capacity options are generally much more valuable).

If you haven't done so yet, go to Cyrodiil and do the beginner's training. You should unlock the skill Rapid Maneuver in the Alliance War Assault skill line, which can be cast while riding, and will increase your movement speed by 40%. If I cast this I can just ride right past mobs and they have no chance of catching up to me.

Make sure your mount has some stamina left. You only get knocked off if it has none. You can go to the stables to buy riding lessons for your character which will increase mount stamina so that it takes more hits to knock you off.

I've wanted this since the gate opened, as I came from LOTRO and it was the norm.

It makes no sense for mob's way below you to attack without aggro'ing them first...you get no XP or loot. Not to mention if you have cleared a map and simply want to explore it is annoying as shite. Plus the Justice System closed some doors to RP'ers (literally), having mobs X amount of levels under you, ignore you...would open up a few more locations.

    Send feedback to the devs!
If options weren't necessary, and everyone played the same way, no one would use addons. Fix the UI!

    Do you even horse, bro?

...With all due seriousness. I don't know why you're riding into the mob horde and allowing yourself to be smacked.

In all honesty, this is a learn to play issue. In this game lower level mobs can slaughter you if there are enough of them and you're not playing well. That's a good thing. It makes no sense for you to be completely immune to lower level mobs.

If you're galloping right past mobs and your horse is out of stamina, well that's just a foolish thing to do, and the game correctly punishes you for it. It's incredibly easy to ride around low level areas without getting knocked off your horse. You just make sure you don't ride close enough to mobs that they can attack you before you get out of range of their attack. Or you make sure your horse has plenty of stamina left when you ride by.

Yeah, and that's one of the things in ESO I love, and hate... it never makes much sense to me that mobs wouldn't aggro higher level players. Or being unable to damage higher levels players, like in many other MMOs - in ESO, they attack, and they do their (underwhelming) damage. Though it can be rather annoyoing... when they throw you off your horse while you ride at low horse stamina... when they make you need a second try to open that chest or gather that node... when they mess up your freshly cleaned armor with their blood... ;)
