Right now, the early zones are going to be farmed heavily, so it will be harder to find nodes.

Your best bet is to farm in the starter zones, since most players don't spend as much time there:

Ebonheart Pact: Bleackrock/Bal Foyen
Daggerfall Covenant: Stros M'Kai/Beathnikh
Aldmeri Dominion: Khenarthi's Roost

Also, if you have a spare skillpoint, I'd recommend getting the first level of "Keen Eye" which is a passive skill in the Blacksmithing skill line. It unlocks at level 2 in Blacksmithing, but you have to put a point in it. This gives ore nodes a shimmer or glow effect, which makes them easier to spot when you get close.
