Why choose vamp/ why choose werewolf.

Hey all, no requests for a bite here, just wondering the real pro's and con's of being a vamp vs werewolf and vice versa. I humbly apologize if this has been discussed, but even after using the search function and scouring, the only thing I've really gleaned is that yes...vamps still hate fire...I would like more hard facts on both werewolfs and vamps. Bases totally on roleplay I'd likely go vamp, but it's best not to offer your life for something you know nothing of.

    Vamps:
-always have access to passives and abilities from their skill tree
-compliment spell caster and stealth builds well

Negatives: severe penalty to fire resistance and increase to fire damage taken

    Werewolves:
    -no negative effects unless transformed
-passive bonus to stamina regeneration even when not transformed
-good damage output, especially at a group of several wolves working together
-compliments tank and warrior/melee builds well

Negatives: other than stamina regen, no effects apply when not transformed. Take extra damage from poison and disease effects while transformed.

    I prefer wolf by far.

    For PvE?

Werewolf - Whatever your build, become a werewolf. While nobody actually uses the transformation as it's quite lacklustre, the free stamina regeneration makes it worthwhile. Basically get bitten, level it up to bite other people and don't ever touch it again.

Vampire - Not worth it in most situations, the fire weakness is frustrating and I wouldn't recommend it beyond roleplay entertainment or very early gameplay. I know there are decent vampire players out there, but they have a great understanding of the game mechanics and their classes in general.

    For PvP?

    Werewolf - See above.

Vampire - It was once OP, but not so much these days. The passives are handy, the ultimate is okay and in general quite a few PvP based characters pick up Vampirism. I can't say much about it as it's quite hit or miss depending on you as a player.

    !LASTLY!

There are achievements linked to maxing both the Werewolf and Vampire tree line, so ultimately you'll want to max both if you're an achievement junkie.

It's a quote of M'aiq coming from TES IV: Oblivion, it was only meant as a joke about your misspelling of "werewolf" that you wrote "where wolf", that's all ;)
