The simple answer is no ZoS has never cared about anything other than their crown store.
5. People who do not want their gender or age to be revealed by speaking

Yes, back when they were never going to stray from the subscription model, because that's the model they would need to provide the frequency of content updates and quality support they promised.
I hope they add that, there tons of people would rather type then use mic.
1- People who play at night.
2- People that English us their 2nd or 3rd language.
3- People who have issues with spelling.
4- People with social disorder.
There no excuses to not add text chat, you don't want to see it? Just turn it off like local mic, I think.
If you can't afford 10 dollar usb keyboard? What are you doing spending 400 on console and 60 on game and of course 50-60 on xbox/psn sub, and last not least ISP services.

I stutter and would not only *** off myself, but other people as well.
So glad I'm playing on PC.

It wasn't so much an issue due to the text chat of course. I realised that when no chat option was available on console that they basically excluded a whole bunch of people from the game because they have hearing impairment, or are completely deaf. The problem isn't just you sometimes can't hear what people are saying, hearing impairment often comes with sensitivity problems too, so people are either too quiet, or too loud. It would be impossible for me to play this game without text chat, at the best, it would be very uncomfortable. Just one of the smaller reasons I want absolutely nothing to do with any game Zenimax produces now or in the future.
Hmm, I have to admit I don't really understand this one, because you can turn the voice chat off when you're questing and looking for immersion can't you?6. People who don't want their immersion spoiled by voice chat.

I really appreciate you replying to the post and sharing your own experiences. You are correct that there are also a multitude of other reasons why someone would prefer a text chat system. I don't think the Devs took all of this into account. Hopefully it will be addressed soon.
Well I doubt it will get addressed. Its not like they haven't thought about this. At some point in the past, someone said "what about people with hearing impairment or are deaf, they'd need text chat"? And someone else has said "nah, don't bother, too much hassle".
So they are responsible for your purchasing choices, is that right?
Here's the thing. You want to communicate. Sweet. That's dandy. Unfortunately, you have a physical disability that prevents that from happening via normal methods. Okay. That's understandable. But why is anyone other than you responsible for overcoming your shortcomings?
Would you buy a CD player and then *** to the company that you can't hear it cause you are deaf? No. Why? Because that's *** ***. There are some things you can't do and, yes, it is unfortunate for you, it's not other people's responsibility to cater to you and your disability.
There is a version of this game that is available with text chat. Go play it if you want to play this game. Unfortunately, consoles on a whole are meant for the majority. The people with all five senses in tact. PCs offer a TON of options for the disabled. But YOU were the one responsible for saying...Know what? I'd rather buy a console. Let me make a purchasing choice that I may not get the full experience of because I want it.
That's your call but don't expect an item that doesn't come with it's own keyboard to cater to people who prefer keyboards. It comes with a headset. Know why? Cause it's designed for voice chat. Didn't stop you.
So what's the argument for not playing PC. Don't have a good enough computer? But are you going to *** to bethesda that it's their fault that you aren't receiving the full experience of the game because of difficulties on your end? ie not having the money for a good gaming PC?

Please share how many games allow for text chat on console? Battlefield, Call of Duty, Madden, FIFA, Xbox party? Stop being so soft on yourself. Many games do not have text chat or offer subtitles. I don't know why so many people are crying for this option. I bet blind people are pissed to....
