Seperate Forums Please!!

Can we please get some forum separation set up between the Console and PC players!!! (with both areas having their own place for General Discussion threads).

I am getting really tired of seeing threads made by console peeps asking to group up, looking to sell/trade their motifs, join a guild, asking other players for vampire and WW bite, whine about not being able to connect and are looking for customer support and other subjects that DO NOT BELONG in the General Discussion and if a PC player would have posted it here within a few minutes it would have been locked and shut down and been told to post it in the right place.

Console and PC people need a place where they can go that is DEDICATED just for them, where they can ask that stuff. Where every one knows that are is related to whatever it is they play on, instead of trying to guess what someone is talking about because they are too lazy to put PS4, XB1 or PC in the tittle description.

Lol it just dawned on me that a forum that had belonged exclusively to PC users for a long time and is full of veteran players is now absolutely blowing up with noob drama. Total mind *** I'd imagine for PC vets

It has nothing to with that mdhammond. Don't mistakenly think a PC player doesn't like all console people simple because they may not like you.

No one minds answering questions like "how do I get my bounty to go down?" and how do I beat this boss or get past this point. How to you feel this skill works? When are we getting DLC, or what are you looking forward to. Those type of questions belong in the General Discussion area as they pertain to all platforms, not just one.

But when you are coming into a general discussion looking to trade stuff, for guilds or bites, or to talk specifically about issues regarding the platform they play on and no one elses and other crap like that, all readers are left wondering the following: What starter Alliance (EP, AD, DC), What Server (NA, EU), What platform (PC, XB1, PS4)?

Forum separation goes a long way to keeping everything clean and easy for users to be able to find the answers they are looking for, rather than sifting through 30 pages of trash not relevant to your platform.

speak for yourself - I personally think the IQ level of the forums has dropped 50 points since the console launch.

i don't care if there is n00b drama - but i want it confined to a n00b subforum. i don't personally want to trawl through layers of n00b to find content that's actually relevant to my gaming experience.

Nope, just speaking what is on a lot of other players minds. Besides, the more these forums are kept together, the more the threads are gonna get trolled by both sides for the sheer fun of it.

It's not happening come back and ask 3-4 weeks from now if console only stuff is blowing up still. They knew console would be everywhere this first week or two and then would die down to more neutral topics for all.

Also if your splitting for reasons of asking for groups and trading and such than PS4 and Xbox need to be separated as well.

This is no PC and Console this is PC PS4 and Xbox. I think PC players forget they are actually out numbered at this point. I bought Mac originally but now play Xbox so PC players constantly whining has me annoyed when I had to wait 12 months for a game to be released on my preferred play method.

I was just messing with you. I played PC beta/launch and quit. Came back to give it a shot on PS4 to play with my family members. Separate forums would be nice.

It really matters what control input people use? Keyboard or Controller? It's that big of a deal? I guess I am getting old. Console peeps ask away and Welcome to the game of ragers and some elitist.

I have played on PC since beta and I have it on PS4 now too. Some of the PC people embarrass the rest of us...

I was just messing with you. I played PC beta/launch and quit. Came back to give it a shot on PS4 to play with my family members. Separate forums would be nice.

I will be playing on PS4 myself with the friends from time to time as well, in the near future. But, a number of us are holding off on getting the game for it until a good 2 months after release because of the disaster that was PC launch. We'll let the hard core people play and fix the game first before jumping on.

I played PC Beta myself, but have stuck with the game with only a small vacation in between. I play mainly solo on my PC account and plan on just helping friends out with their stuff when playing on console.

Thank you. It really isn't fair to the Consolers to say that the forum IQ base has dropped, there's just more people, and a smaller knowledge base. Sure some questions may sound stupid to a vet PC ESO player, but for some it may be brand new. Perhaps this is they're introduction to a forum. No need to get hostile.

it's not the knowledge component that i'm criticising. there's no such thing as a stupid question - we get that. as veterans we're happy to answer. if someone on console asked a legit question about gameplay, i'd answer it in a heartbeat as would anyone else here.

what grinds my gears is the level of maturity that seems to have accompanied the console launch.

really, you just need to open each console thread that's been spammed over the last week and you'll see what I mean. terrible sentence structure, bad grammar, and intensifying me-me-me syndrome.

no one needs wailing banshees with a sense of entitlement in a community. it's prohibitive to fostering a great culture.

You are correct, it isn't fair to say that at all, as it is only an influx of new players to the game whom have no experience with it before, and I think I see where the Devs were trying to go with keeping every one together, but I do not think they were counting on the animosity of a portion of very vocal PC users.

And a lot of the questions being asked are not stupid, just in the wrong place within the current forum structure as it is even.

Trust me, if I hated console users I would not have spent the last three days on FB helping people out over there and keeping them updated on maintenance being done, what they error codes they are receiving really mean and helping them out with quests when they are stuck.

I just feel that having the platform forums separated will actually help everyone in the long run when they have things they need help with and need a quick answer that relates to what they are playing on. There is nothing worse than asking for help and people not reading your question fully and giving you answers for the wrong platform. It wastes everyone's time and that would not be the OP's fault.

As a PS4 player, I would have to agree that it must be a bit of a shock for a previously PC only forum to suddenly be swamped by console players. I make no apology for that, since its not my personal choice, but one thrust upon me.
That said, I am gleaning a huge amount of excellent information from everyone and in particular PC players (obviously, since they have been here a while now).Thanks you lovely people!

There are ummm 'idjuts' on all platforms of course...but there are also lot of folk who are new to the game and to forums.
Everyone is 'noob' at some point. And trolls can be ignored.
I have taken note of folks opinions and will ensure my platform is clear on each post from now onwards.

On one hand I'm seeing a ton of really dumb questions better left for Zone chat that push out more relevant forum content to page 2.

On the other hand I know it's not going to be like this forever. ( I hope) There will be growing pains while ESO console users assimilate to the game and community.

No good will come from Trollage between PC and Console users. It could be entertaining to see folks moderated and banned as this goes on though.

Word of warning. The forums are actually policed by ZoS so be careful where you go with your attacks. You might find that trying to get folks hackles up isn't as entertaining as you thought.

Good points all around. There should at minimum be a separate area for technical questions/complaints/ideas that are specific to platform. Until then I am supportive of the labelling pertinent posts with the platform being discussed.

I understand why OP is asking for this, but I think it would be a mistake in the long term.

What if console players eventually outnumber PC players by a large margin? At that point the console version essentially becomes the de facto ESO, but all us old-timers will be posting comments in the PC ghetto, never to be read or acknowledged by ZoS.

Unfortunately, the console versions only have voice chat for areas and groups, and lack any way to ask a question of the entire zone. That's probably why there are a bunch of minor questions here instead of being asked in-game.

Almost everyone on these forums (prior to console launch) loves helping other people, ESPECIALLY new players. I don't even mind the polls for console players or topics about the game in general.
What we don't love are posts about
Xbox technical issues
PS4 technical issues
"I want a refund"
"This game sucks"
"Still can't get in"
"LFG (no platform specificity)"
"LF trade"
Not to mention the sheer number of blatant harassers in every other post along with every forum rule of conduct being broken simply due to this specific influx of "Soul Shriven".
I hated the Bungie forums for this reason so please keep them there.

A bit of common sense in the forums being organised would be good....

I agree with one thing, there needs to be a separate forum where client-specific issues .. like how do I 'x' on a PS4 .. but most of the topics you're complaining about are a result of NEW PLAYERS coming into the game and nothing to do with the hardware they're playing on.

As such putting console players into their own ghetto is NOT thew way to proceed: this simply smacks of the earlier 'Plus players should have their exclusive use of some forums to keep out the F2P rabble' bigotry.
