Good place to find essence runes
My collection of potency and aspect runes are plentiful however I'm having trouble finding essence runes.
I've just finished the starter islands and Davans watch (I'm EP)
Is there any specific location that has an abundance of essence runes ?.. Or do I purchase them ?

Yes! Bal Foyen is an excellent place, and I've got my own route worked out. Runes seem to spawn pretty quickly there.
Keep in mind that the only essence runes you're going to find there will be the basic ones: Oko (Health), Deni (Stamina), Makko (Magicka), Rakeipa (Fire), Meip (Shock), and Dekeipa (Frost).
Also, you will only get Jora/Jode potency runes (that make lvl 1-10 glyphs). However, you can get any level aspect rune here so I go back to this place when I need more Rekuta (purple) and Kuta (gold) aspect runes. In an hour of farming, I usually end up with at least 2 Kutas and often at least 6 Rekutas. And, lots of potencies/basic essences (but these are good for my low-level enchanter to complete her writs).5

✭✭✭✭✭I have maps of resource spawn locations. They're a bit outdated (need to scan the newer ones) but like mentioned above, while the spawn locations for runes are fixed, the type of rune you get is RNG.
Anyways, anything marked with an X on my maps is a potential rune spawn point:
