NA PC LAG/CRASH

Seriously, how can the PC version of this game get worse where Crashes and Lag are concerned? PC is supposed to have less players now that people transferred to Xbox One and PS4 and the game is worse now than ever! I casted 1 spell in the Elden Root Tree and was kicked to a logon screen with no error message at all. Please look at your hardware as people in the zones are asking others if they are lagging also. There's a 5-30 second spell cast delay in Craglorn right now. It's Wednesday, I'm in Salt Lake City Utah and it's 6:35pm MST.

The game Lag should be getting better....NOT WORSE.....

Same story with me, Erwen. My internet is fine (although there is a storm brewing near my area). From what I've heard this is something affecting many people so I guess I'm not going insane after all.

Yeah, it's not us. Everyone in Grahtwood is talking about it now. It's server sided, the same as it has been since release. They need to fix this quick.

Yeah last night on PC in Auridon it was a nightmare. I finally after being kicked four times, gave up and quit playing for the night. Tried around 3AM EST and it was still the same horrible play experience. My understanding was console megaservers and auth servers were going to be different farms. Now I am starting to wonder about that because play on NA PC hasn't been this bad since release over a year ago. Most of my guild mates, from three guilds, gave up and quit playing last night.

I did manage to complete the small lvl 15 dungeon in AD this morning but it was painful. NPCs warping everywhere, couldn't grab any loot from the bodies no matter what I tried. I decided to just kill the boss find the skyshard and log out.

Console and PC on DVD has come out here in Australia on the same day. All those PC owners that had pre orders = a lot of new players to PC. Most aussies will join the NA server as it's ping is only a whopping 250 to 300. EU server is roughly 50 to 100 more.

Tip: The program "uTorrent" causes me the dreaded "packet loss". And also increases my ping by 50 to 200. Whenever the program is open on ANY computer on my network. just running in the background not doing anything is all it takes. It only causes problems in online gaming. There are actually so many different things that can cause "packet loss". And how often it can happen varies a lot as well

This is a high indication of "packet loss" on your network. Try only having your PC connected to your network. Turn off ALL other devices. Next, Virus scan and Malware scan. Next, Try closing nearly everything on your PC, Next, Try...So many more things. I would be writing forever. YouTube has a little bit about diagnosing to see if your network gets "packet loss". rarely is the issue of "packet loss" not on your property. That's when your internet provider will be able to see something on there end. Which they will surely fix.

Most importantly, Use a LAN cable if your not happy with your Lag. WIFI is really bad for online gaming.

My wifi isnt bad for gaming. I think the NA console server and NA pc server use the same data center. So they experienced the same "lag" just not the login issues.

My whole home runs off wired CAT6(10GB) hardlines. Granted my internet speed is no where near that, it's not wireless. I never game on wireless as the lag would be even worse that in it is. There were tons of people talking about kicks and lag most of last night so it's not individual ISP issues. This is either the Megaserver or the Data Exchange that ZOS uses.

well, im playing since betas, PAYING since game started and today i canceled my sub. dont know if i will play the game again, i know its not my internet/pc problem, this started on console release, this maybe a coincidence but i think they changed some servers to help console problems with lag and crashs on log in... i will never know if this is true but im tired to wait a game that crash, lag since day one and at this point i dont care anymore if the game is good (when working) i will stop playing.

Are you guys, that are having this problem, running / starting ESO from the launcher?

Note: just trouble shooting here, because you Will have an increase in stability issues if you launch ESO from the launcher. There is still some messed up coding in it regarding memory.
Set up a short cut with the exe. file and run with that. It may not solve all your issues, but it will decrease them.

At the very least, make sure the Launcher is closed while playing. This has worked for some people, but I have found running from the exe. file generates better results.

Your cat 6 is the go "ROBBMRP"! you can have 100 metre cables if you wanted. If you had a Cat 5, 30 metre cable your ping would be about 10 to 20 ms higher. Cat5e works perfect at 40 metres.

I agree that the servers aren't up to scratch. And everything you else you say. I have always had issues in ESO with network disconnections or game freezing. About every 2 to 8 hours randomly. It is so frustrating.

My words earlier are related to the post's topic, And mainly the first message. I wasn't referring to a specific day, week, etc. Other messages start to refer to a specific time, Which is just fine

True, it's not the players. But it's also true, That not every one of the 4 million + players networks are working properley either.
