Once I heard that text chat wasn't in I cried a little, I got over it eventually but now I'm crying again. It's so hard for me to play without it. Nobody I know seems to care.

I want a text chat too and damage/healing numbers thats why im on these forums i feel these things are needed in this game for endgame.1 -

I only heard about this from your thread (I don't own a console, so I wasn't searching for this). Then I was searching for more threads, found a poll about adding text chat, voted YES, was about to quote someone who mentioned deaf people, but then I saw the thread was closed, dammit. Because this was my first thought, too, when I read there's not text chat on console, that's unbelievable! things to do about this; sell your ps or xbox buy a gaming pc or grab a hammer and smash your console then buy a gaming pc and play like a MAN !!! idk gamers prefer consoles everything is limited on consoles. Also if you like joystick or controller you can always use 1 on PC too. Also you can upgrade your hardware most of the time and use it up to 5-6 years.Thats why i always think console users mostly kids or oldies cos they cant figure how to use PC. I hate consoles

Still, I'll say my thoughts again: I simply need text chat to actually be able to enjoy the game properly. USB keyboard supports both XB1 and PS4 natively, so that moots out people saying it'd be too inconvenient to bring up the virtual keyboard.

Or people don't want to go from working on computers/servers all day to playing on one at home. I for that reason and a couple others do not play on PC but do admit that the gaming on there for the most part is better.1 -

100% wrong for keyboards. In Xbox Neverwinter, instant response/input, never once bugged or anything. Just as easy and reliable as PC Neverwinter.Ah yes, this thread again. Yeah, this is my one problem so far with the game. I really don't know what they were thinking here. This area voice chat is becoming a pain also, so far I've heard a chicken, lawnmower, a bullhorn and a Bieber song. It's horrible. Konquest✭Srry if my input offends anyone that sees things differently then me but this is just my say and it must be said.
This game needs text chat on consoles or bad things will follow the consoles version, pls dont gimp the eso experience for us console players, communicating players w.o a mic is long/slow and a real task. Some of us need to communicate with others by text so we can be more effective in alliance wars, dungeon or raid strategy. we need more options then what was given. This will come back and have negative effects for us all the player and company.
Pls find a fix for this and patch it in, thanks in advance
Here is a couple options i seen used befoe. For ps4 users we can double click the center thumb pad to open a chat window. And for x1 users should be able to do something alike.Edited by Konquest on June 11, 2015 6:59AM1 -
VSeconds✭I have USB keyboard, I can use it on both ps4 and xbone, and it response like normal PC, Why wouldn't they implement ingame local chat, guild and group also?
Ps, when you use Hello Emote, there is a bubble pops above your head already, so the text show in it, or just another chat log on left down corner.1 -

blossy✭✭I understand they aimed for more streamlined console experience. But apparently their lead UI designer followed the "too many options confuse the user" rule way too literally.
It just is not applicable in a MMORPG. This is not anything like Destiny.1
