They are still bind on equip, but I don't think you can get them to drop anywhere atm besides guild stores. Honestly, I'm not even positive where they originally came from because I have heard that they were a pvp vendor bag item, but also heard that they were items from the Hel-Ra trial.
As far as soulshine and nightshade, the items have never dropped in blue, but maybe champion passive will change that, if it even works like that to begin with.

In a very quick test session (20 safeboxes of various difficulty in a Cadwell's Gold zone), I've noticed no difference at all.Does anyone know if that champion passive also applies to safeboxes? Does it increase the chance of finding purple stolen items from them, for example?
I did a bit of testing and farmed treasure chests in the AD version of Grahtwood until I had opened 100 Simple Treasure Chests with a character that had the Treasure Hunter passive from the Champion system.
In the time it took me to find 100 Simple Chests, I've also found 45 Intermediate Chests, 14 Advanced Chests, and 5 Master Chests. I've opened 9 Hidden Treasure Chests as well (I had 2 treasure maps for the zone already, before I started).
I did not distinguish between empty and filled soul gems just noted when I found either one in a chest.
Here are my results:All set items have the quality they normally have when obtained from regular treasure chest in this zone (which is green). Results might be different for dolmen, dungeon, or event-triggered chests.
Of course, I would have to do the same thing now with a character that does not have the Treasue Hunter passive and compare the results to be able to tell how exactly the passive works but I don't think I will do that. At least not right now, sorry ^^ Maybe somebody else could do it and compare their results with mine
Based on my personal experience, it seems to me like the chances to find green set items and regular blue items is increased by quite a bit, but I might be wrong, this is just speculationI was also surprised about how many intermediate, advanced and master chests I've found (if the type of chest is different for each player the passive could affect the type of chest you find; if the type of chest is the same for everyone then, of course, that's not possible
).

So, in the end, I've decided to farm another 100 simple treasure chests in the same location, with the same character, but this time without the Treasure Hunter passive
Here are the results:
Based on these results, here's a list of how the Treasure Hunter passive increases your chance to find better items for each type of treasure chest
Simple Chests
- Chance to get a soul gem (empty of filled) is ~30% with the Treasure Hunter bonus instead of ~12% without it.
- 30% chance to get a green set item instead of a regular green item. Without the Treasure Hunter bonus, simple chests will never include set items!
- (Possibly an increased chance to find treasure maps.)
Intermediate Chests
- ~60% chance to find a green set item (with the Treasure Hunter passive) instead of ~25% chance to find a green set item (without the Treasure Hunter passive).
- 100% chance to find a regular blue item instead of 0% chance without the passive.
- (Possibly an increased chance to find treasure maps.)
Advanced Chests
- 100% chance to find a green set item instead of 40% chance.
Master Chests
- You will always find 2 regular blue items instead of just 1 (100% chance to find 2 blue items instead of 100% chance to find 1 blue item).
Hidden Treasure
- There's a chance of about 66% to find 2 green set items instead of just 1 (the chance to find at least one set item is 100% with the bonus, except for when you find a purple item; without the bonus, the chance to find 1 green set item is ~45%).
- (The chance to get 1 purple item instead of green set items might be something that can only happen when you have the Treasure Hunter bonus.)
- (The chance to get 1 regular green item on top of 1 or 2 green set items might be something that can only happen when you have the Treasure Hunter bonus.)
Overall, I think this bonus is very helpful when hunting for treasure chests and it really allows you to find a lot more set items and blue items than you could normally in the same amount of time
Edit: The drop info posted here is only correct for treasure chests in the second zone of each alliance (lv 15-23). I've noticed that higher level chests, for example in Coldharbour, have a much lower chance to include set items overall. Some rules, however, like the guaranteed blue item on intermediate chests, still apply.
I wouldn't know where to test thatQuadroTony wrote: »thanks for the tests!!! can you please also check drop from Heavy Sacks?
