Crown Motifs

Using the Guild Trader I bought two types of Crown Motifs from other players, one for the crafting, smithing and woodcutting styles for the High Elves and then the same for the Dark Elves. Once I had purchased them I wanted to make armor in that style but when it came to changing the style from Nord to High Elf for example it says I have not yet learned that style of Crown Motif.. I don't know if its because I need more than one book or if I just cant make in that style. Help would he greatly appreciated and I really have no idea if I just wasted my coins or not on something I cannot even use. Thanks in advance.

Do you have the book in you inventory? (Should have received by mail, might need to zone/log out) You need to use it to learn the style.

You will need a style item to craft in each style as well. You will know your own race's style be default, though you still need the style item.

Did you 'read' the books? The motifs are a consumable item. You learn the motif by "Using" it, whereupon the motif will be used, disappear from you inventory, and will be a new style for equipment crafting. Note, you will need the associated racial style stone to craft items in that style. You can buy these from merchants, but they also are found as loot in many containers, so much so that at higher levels, they are viewed as trash.

That's why I was getting confused, it says I was buying a book but I never received any book so I decided to get help here, thanks guys.

Note it can take up to 10 or 15 minutes for a guild kiosk mail to show up. Traveling to another zone, or popping into, or out of the Thieves Refuge can trigger the mail delivery to happen right away. Relogging your character also works, but zoning or Refuge are better in my mind.

Is this still a known issue even on consoles? Im assuming OP is a console player.
