Best Class to play with my 2 friends (Sorc & DK)

Hello all! New to ESO (PS4) and excited to be a part of this community. I've tried to do as much research as I can and know that any class can do almost anything!

That aside, my 2 friends are playing a Sorc (wants to focus on AOE/DPS) and a DK. If we plan to trio group a lot, what do you think would be the best class to form the trio? Naturally I'd assume a Templar that can heal, is this the case? Can templars do decent damage to as healers?

Awesome, thanks! For my trio, if I do templar, would Magika Templar be best? Or are Stamina builds the way to go in your opinions? Looking for advice on leveling/skills

Both are fun and can provide solid dps. ESO gives you enough skill points to try different things out. So experiment and find the build that suits you.

Templars are good all rounders....

They make the best healers
Best general support role.
Excellent tanks
Excellent stamina DPS.

If you want something specifically to complement a DK & a Sorc then yeah.... .role Templar. They're a fun class... as long as you aren't dead set on being a magicka DPS... they are rock bottom in that category.

I would go healing if I were you.

Your sorc friend should go DPS - your DK as tank and you as healer.

Thanks guys so much! Love the helpful community here! Lied about last question haha, have a couple more:

I've usually always played ranged casters/DPS/support roles in other MMO's but rarely tanks. Do Templars do any decent ranged damage? I know a couple comments above said they are very poor at ranged DPS. How would you level/build your templar? Stamina?

Also consider a NB burst. Class cannon extremely high burst DPS.

I play with my friends who are tanks and sustained DPS (Temps and DKs) and the combination of fighting against a hard target for a long time while being bursted without warning is very difficult to counter.

Of course, this is mostly a PvP suggestion. If focusing on PvE, go Templar for sure.

In PvP, I usually kill fast enough (or kill and run fast enough) not to worry about it.

I solo'd almost everything PvE from lvl 1 to Calwell's Gold.

Of course, there are always dedicated healers for dungeons, pledges, and dsa.

Every class has enough self-heal to run PvE content. In PvP, TTK is so fast, you will probably kill or be killed faster than a healer can do something anyway.....unless you are zerging. If you are zerging then it really doesn't matter about synergy between you and your buddies anyway.
