It isn't very good? A very tepid MMORPG

I was hyped for this, so hyped, saw great potential in it
And I've sank most of my day into it, and it just isn't a good game
It's boring, beyond boring, most MMO's do something to make the game fun, this doesn't even manage that
The quests are atrocious the world is so ugly, I came here from FF XIV:ARR and that looks so much better than this
I'm angry with the awful decisions Zen made, the worst of which is the fact there is NO text box, how they can release an MMO without such a key feature is beyond me.
The voice-chat is awful, and it doesn't encourage communication
It encourages muting everyone
They need to patch in text chat, because I enjoy RP
And I can't bloody RP over a headset because it requires description of actions etc
Don't really feel like sitting there "I raise my hands in the air, thrusting my staff forward as I scream a torrent of elven phrases, healing all those in my vicinity"
It's just lame
This is the worst MMO I've ever played
And graphics, quest and world-wise, it reminds me of the original Two Worlds

I played FF14 too... was meh. Has a lot of Features I loved but the graphic realisim in this game is vastly superior to many games out there, including FF14. The quests are also a LOT better. You cannot possibly sit there and say that collecting 4 pails of water for some dumb chocobo farmer is a better quest than literally anything in this game. . . I don't buy it. FF14's quests are random except for the storyline and they turn you into a go-fetch player. Go get this nobody in xyz area a bunch of stuff so i'll maybe trust you to give you the main line quest... even though you've already been a hero in the game blah blah. No thanks. That game doesn't have voice acting for 95% of it and your interactions with world items are always just a cheep fling of sparkle dust in the air followed by a chime sound. At least here when they say put out those fires, you actually do it. I'm sure the no text box sucks and the game certainly has its flaws but none in the categories you mentioned outside of said text box for consoles.

All have chat boxes, this is a first for me, and it's not a good design move

*Edit: P.S. GW2 is pretty bad. Maybe worse than DCUO.

So you're defending your stance by bringing up most of the games that is PC only (with chat boxes) and compare that to your displeasure towards ESO console experience with no chat box? (I'm not talking about the comparison to FF14:ARR).

If you're going to argue, make valid arguments.

Judging a game in the first day is an opinion based on extremely limited information and experience. Id suggest giving it a few weeks of actual playing the game before making a decision. If not, well,adios.

ESO: TU is a great game on PC. I don't know what it's like on Console, but you have given a large explanation as to why you oppose it. I've seen much gameplay of both PS4 and XB1. Both look stunning. Completely stunning. As far as voice-chat goes, yes, they must add/fix text for consoles. Text boxes are in fact an important part of this game, but if you have any friends that also have this game (If you have any friends whatsoever*) then those are the guys you will be playing with most of the time, so you won't use text-chat anyways.
(For the use of text to RP, Ohmygodyes, I agree. Don't even try to RP without it. I would recommend leveling to be able to wear better/cooler looking gear while you wait for them to fix it. I mean, the game came out today.)
Using it for PVP, works better than Text. I compare the PVP here to Planetside 2, where you voice chat all the time.
Quests for AD are pretty fun, haven't started other alliance's quests yet.
One thing you can't complain about...
Crown store has near-useless items, so you'll never have to spend a dime after what you initially paid for the game.
Zenimax is not incompetent. Don't like the game? Don't whine about it here: you'll find no allies in these forums.
