You do realize that actually questing will get you to VR 14 a lot faster, right?

Questing is less appealing than a loaded diaper when you've already had to level four VRs for one faction.

    That's what I've been doing.

All the quests I've already done once before in all their glory and none of the entertainment value.

Periodic breaks to do a delve or a world boss here and there. It's dreadfully, painfully, bitterly dull. And the combat's not challenging or engaging. My alt is a VR3 NB set up in a mix of Hunding's and Night's Silence with all blue equipment within a couple levels of himself. I can one shot any non-boss mob from stealth in the VR2 and 3 zones. Hell, with follow-up and my 2H I can often one shot a whole pack if they're close enough to each other and I get the 'from stealth' crit bonus on the opening attack.

Last Saturday I watched the entire first season of Vikings while grinding quests and ended up getting one whole VR rank in the 9 hours that took.

It takes forever and it's boring as it gets.

People shouldn't have to re-roll, all they need to do is make a team select screen when you first enter cyrodiil that auto-balances the teams the same way Quake 1 did it 19 years ago. Change the way emp works, change the way scoring works so that it matches the auto-balance system and bam, balanced team and game. Test it on one server first and see how people like it.

I would like to re-roll but personally i can't be bothered to waste a week of my life grinding out boring content in a game when summer, friends, family and and a whole bunch of interesting other things are out there to do. I can't expect anyone reasonable to expect anyone to grind an alt with their time.

    Hmm. Interesting idea.

Maybe they can make it so that we can create Cyrodil only characters that can pull from all the resources we have unlocked in the PVE game. So all your horse riding skills, your skill points, your CP, etc is available for your PVP only character. Then we could use those characters in any faction or they could use the auto-balancing like you stated.

Either that or decouple our characters from their PVE faction origins while in Cyrodil. I mean, after going though all the Caldwell crap does the faction backstory really carry any weight?

And yeah, while getting to 50 is fine, I agree that the grind to VR14 is boring as hell.

I suggested that as well in another thread, the original GW did that, where you can start a max level PVP character with all gear, skills and other things unlocked to be competitive day one. the PVP character can't leave PVP and can't trade items with pve characters including your own. There are a ton of ways ZoS can address this if they care to; it's their choice to watch their player liquidity evaporate.

I have 5 V14 Character and I just maxed the last one out. I created it after 1.6 just to change my racial on a class I have maxed already. I leveled going all core quests for skill points in non-vet + quests that were in the same areas as those and I did the exact same thing in Cadwells' Silver & Gold. Include dungeons, skyshards, dolmen w/ grinding and it took me roughly 160 hours to max out.

"it's important to state that our decision to go with subscriptions is not a referendum on online game revenue models. F2P, B2P, etc. are valid, proven business models - but subscription is the one that fits ESO the best, given our commitment to freedom of gameplay, quality and long-term content delivery. Plus, players will appreciate not having to worry about being "monetized" in the middle of playing the game, which is definitely a problem that is cropping up more and more in online gaming these days." - Matt Firor

The grind to get a true end game character in this game is awful. Everquest and DAoC weren't this bad.

That last vet grind was a pretty brutal gaming experience. At least in the past I could just zone out and watch TV while playing and smashing mobs and ticking off levels in a timely manner. But to go and do another 550+ fetch quests just to level guarantees I will never go through that experience again
