I've lost the will to play

I go on, feed my horse, empty my hireling mail, and suddenly realize there's nothing in this game that interests me anymore. This has been happening for about a month now.

I want to enjoy it, but I've been V14 since like a week after we were able to get to V14...I wish the game was more open world and less instanced, I wish I had my own house to decorate, I wish there was more raids which didn't involve 12 people standing and AOEing with their fire staffs....

I have about 50 days gametime....I think i've just burned out. Will there be ANY new content at all? I don't know anyone who plays this game anymore. It's quite sad really. I have no intention of making an alt because I've done every quest there is to do & the levelling is so long.

Meh. I'm a huge ES fan but now i've come to realize this game is painfully average, so much wasted potential :/

Is it just me playing too much, or is it because we've had no new content for 8 months?

@Heromofo Dude, that kind of mechanic/design/environment will take MONTHS to roll out. Putting in player housing, even if they WOULD consider it, I wouldn't expect any form of release until mid/end 2016.

I wouldn't expect player housing until they fulfill their promises so around late next year.
But all we can while waiting for new content is bring new ideas and wait lol.

Also i linked that one because its the start of a really long series and Gidorick's Repository Of brillant Ideas.

I feel pretty much the same way. I log on, feed my horse and do my crafting writs and get my mail. Sometimes I just browse good stores to see what they have even if I don't need anything. The thing is a month ago I was playing non stop, getting champion points and trying to finish off my gear set. ( shadow Walker) and I thought 'i can't wait to use this gear' but by the time I had full 5 piece shadow Walker and all the other gear that I worked for I, sort of, lost purpose. I'd done most dungeons and getting a trial group was impossible. So I starting playing less and less. I made a few more alts but I feel like I've done all there is to do. Probably best to take a break and come back in a few months when they have added drive fresh content

Hmm, this is a big problem in MMOs, the secret is to stop playing the moment you first feel like that and then leave the game for some considerable time. I see tons of guys saying the same as you and in their signatures I see a shed load of alts at VR14, I can't imagine the amount of time they must have invested to do that. I started in Beta, wasn't that impressed, got back into it last September and I'm now VR9. Still got the last two zones of Cadwell Gold to go and have not visited Craglorn or Cyrodil other than to do basic training and the blacksmith drop offs in Balkarth.

Reason is I take my time, play a week on this then a week on STO, a couple of weeks on TW3 recently (which is a magnificent game, a real masterpiece), plus I spend a lot of time reading lore books, researching out of game and of course all my other interests. Variety is the spice of life they say and it's what keeps this game fresh for me. Too many people I feel rush through without fully exploring each area, I won't leave until I have all the achievements for the zone for example.

However even at my pace I know I will run out of content faster than ZOS can create it, it's simple arithmetic, I finished TW3 in 85 hours, 85 hours in 2 weeks, how would MMO devs ever keep up with that?

I also see people running from quest to quest like crazy trying to level up, imagine if it were real, your hero would perhaps do a new quest every week or month, not several a day, he'd be worn out no matter how much stamina he had.

So take a break, a good long break, play something else, read lore, etc. Then hopefully when you come back it will feel fresher and there will be new content for you. Good luck.

This is the key to playing MMOs in my view. No developer can be expected to keep up content-wise with people who play a single character in a single MMO for long play sessions day in, day out. Those players who favour that playstyle need to accept that it will give them extensive periods in which they'll need to find something else to do while they wait for more content to be added.

As others have said, every MMO is this way. The best thing to do is ROLL AN ALT.

Try a new class. You will be amazed as you discover yourself adapting to a new style of combat that the draw of ESO was never about rushing to the "end-game" but in the richness of the world and the unique combat experience.

The graphics are amazing for an MMO and there are a TON of unique locations to explore. Maybe even try a different faction, you might meet some cool people.

I would say try your hand at modding but I know that isn't for everyone. Between writing addons and rolling alts I am yet to get remotely bored with the game, and I haven't even done any veteran dungeons or raids yet!

    @Valyn Same here..
I log on after a long days work, do the daily stuff and after half an hour I go to Cyrodiil, first to Thornblade EU.
After 30-60 minutes of actually pvping the lag gets too bad so I go to another campaign.
After a couple minutes playing there's always that one big group which makes it impossible to capture keeps with only a few guys. This usually leads to me getting bored and logging off to do something else.

Thank the eight that this game isnt subscription based anymore, I see you guys when the lag is fixed and/or Imperial City launches.

I think it is time for you (and for other people that feels the same) to take a break and come back later with a fresh mind. The reason why I say this is that whenever you feel something is a chore, it is no longer fun and therefore, best to do something different. If you feel like nothing else in the game is worth it, no one else can persuade you otherwise. I still enjoy the game, personally, with veteran dungeons, trials and VDSA runs, trying new builds, etc.

I have the same. I log in, do PvP and get CP and log out. There is nothing that keeps me going. I love PvP. But the battles get smaller and some groups do more dueling now. I understand dueling is a good way of learning to counter a class, but since people change builds and you face different classes you cannot counter them all. That, and I was here for the massive PvP siege battles.

This weekend I didn't even do a CP. I logged in, guild was dueling, thorn was to laggy and the other servers where empty. So I went to Witcher 3.

We need more things to fiddle with in the game. mini-games, housing, gardening would keep some occupied. After doing all PvE content I see no reason to return to these area's. I haven't left Cyrodill for months now.

This long wait for consoles and the lack of anything really new added to the game does not help, I am lucky me and my friends just pvp most of the time and do some dungeon stuff once in a while, but if it has got to a point where you feel you just can't stand to log in nothing wrong with taking a little break, before you burn yourself out to the point that even if they did put in new stuff you still don't want to play, I am crossing my fingers now that console release is upon us starting in about 30 days we will see that big update they are talking about followed by the release of DLC's, of course none of it will come fast enough for the amount of time the pc player base has been waiting.

This happens to a lot of players. Its not a big deal. Take a step away from the game. Go do something else and come back to it when you have the urge.

Its understandable that youd burn out when there hasnt been anything new quest/zone wise for a while now. Just come back when they release a new DLC.

Problem is not the class. I tried doing a DK as an alt. But the quests and story are all the same. At least in SWTOR the class stories where different so made alts there.

Also I don't want to go through the vet ranks again. 1-50 I can do maybe once more up to defeating Molag Ball. After that it gets old.

It might also be me and I might be burned out for mmo's. I played so many mmo's so been there done that and I lack the time and will to put to much effort in one again.

I am only afraid when I take a "break" from TESO I get to much behind in CP. Although the points itself are not that big of a deal, the later on passives are. If I get to far behind you have huge disadvantage. Like when you get a crit, you get healed. And more.

Meh I wanted to give the game a chance up to November to my birthday. But I am afraid it won't last till summer. New content (not crown store stuff) MAYBE end of year. Even if they release a new zone you finish it withing a week or two when playing casual.

Oh well, we shall see what ZoS has in store for us after console release.

I'm in the same boat. PvP is my main passion in an MMO and it has been a wasteland of bugs and imbalances particularly since the release of 1.6. I run into a frustrating bug about every 10 minutes, others report every 5minutes and most fall at 1hr or less. I have to fight the game more than my opponent.

I have had to stop pvping in the game, to save the game for me. I log into to deplete my enlightenment and PvE only. I am also playing skryim to refresh my love for ES. If I didn't do this? I would rage quit the game entirely in a fit of frustration, it is that bad in PvP right now. If I PvE'd primarily I would probably be bored out of my mind, but thankfully this stuff is still relatively fresh for me.

There is your problem right there...re-roll, and slow down a bit, listen to the stories. Go off and just hunt, DO NOT twink your alt.

You raced through the game as fast as you possibly could and now you're bored?

I agree, pledges are a grind, city of ash is a grind, speedlevelling a character to level 50 is a grind with the following VR grind!

Stuff i really want to is trials, but that never happens because i'm not in the right guilds.

So i'm just levelling a Ebonheart character the normal way. That's the only thing that's remotedly fun in the game nowadays.

    And I am here because I feel for my main game, ArcheAge, what you feel about ESO :) as someone said, we need variety. I cant leave ArcheAge (played since august 2014 closed beta) cos of my house and farm which i totally love (in World housing not instanced);
    0farmhouse.jpg
but I dont spend much time in game nowadays because im a bit worn out. AA is extremely costly when u are in "end game" and the Community are extremely toxic (mildly speaking) so Its a bit draining.... For me ESO is refreshing and a lot "nicer" community <3 But the key is to not play 1 game I Think. So i go between and try to experience everyting in the Worlds, slowly leveling. So chill, we have no train 2 Catch, only a game 2 play ;)

Yep, thats what happens when a game like this goes 8 months with ZERO NEW CONTENT.
Force weapon swap to have priority over EVERYTHING. Close enough.
Make stamina builds even with magicka builds.
    Disable abilities while holding block.
Give us a REASON to do dungeons more than once.
Remove PVP AoE CAP. It is ruining Cyrodiil.

I'm one step ahead of you. I was doing the same thing with only logging in to train horses and collect hireling bags but I no longer even have the will to do that. I'm only logging in every 3 days or so to keep from getting booted from trading guilds but I'm quickly losing the desire to keep that from happening, either. Once that happens I really have no reason to log in at all.

No new content. Everyone I know quit the game long ago. B2P is quickly turning this game into everything it wasn't supposed to be. ESO was my favorite MMO until they started heading down this road. At least I have other games to play that are more interesting but none of them are MMOs. I think I'm finally losing faith in MMOs entirely. The genre is complete crap now with the wave of F2P/B2P garbage that every MMO becomes. The only MMO I have any interest in now is Pantheon but that's a long shot.
