Un-Nerfed Meatbags and unpurgable oil catapults...

70% snare unpurgable snare on a Zerg Ball was nasty...and then they nerfed it.

Coming from someone who regularly runs over single players with his humongous zergs all spamming speed maneuvers and AoE. Ground oil won't do anything. Your zergs and other zergs just speed roll over the poor fellows who stop to put siege weapons down.

Ya'll seem upset about getting killed or something?

Guessing you didn't play with "group" oils, but they crushed raids regularly.

Yes, because there's no way the zergs would also set up ground oils.

This idea is super fail, and ironic, considering who it's coming from.

Not really, In fact most of the "groups" back then used them for farming Towers more then anything.

The only time zerg trains pre patch were ever in jeopardy was when the Oil Catapults snared for 70% and Retreating Maneuvers didn't purge it

Throw in Stacking Meat Bag catapults and any group hit by that Oil Catapult and 2 Meat bags was pretty much toast.

I did like the oil cata, but the fact you could put 5 pointed at any breach was alittle overkill. Id like to see the initial 70%, once purged it be 15 or 20%

First you argue that Ground Oil will take care of zergs, but then you state you can just negate this by purging.

The big groups WILL PURGE, and this won't do anything but reintroduce broken mechanics. It's kind of like how Proxy Det was intended to blow up zergs, but now zergs simply spam it as well.

    Do you follow my logic?

Could Scale it based on number of people hit.

For example, Oil Catapult hits 1 or 2 people, only 15% snare..It hits 10+ stacked..70% snare

    20% snare won't phase a zerg though.

    Heres the logic.

    Put down oil -> fight.

If you lose, you simply needed more oil.

But in all seriousness, I remember 6 man wiping 40+ Oils in the corners and up top. Stop it.

He is right it won't stop a lot of Zerg Ball trains cause of Cleanse and such WRX

Not to mention that you pretty much have to stack ontop of one another to use it...what is most likely going to happen is you'll be aoe to death before you even get the Oil off

The Catapults like I said were far more dangerous because you could spread out with those.

Though the big issue would be making it so Siege could be placed on something besides a super flat land.

Or just add Superior Arrow Carts lol

I could solo or duo defend a keep from brandon-south-ga's groups before with ground oils, so it does help versus the zerg. It was always far harder to set up oils as the attacker also since everyone was trained to bash anyone that even looked like they were starting the animation. I think the offense side has it easier now too with other siege doing so much more damage they can siege out oil positions a lot better.

Someone else mentioned bringing back unpurgeable oil catas... and I've been thinking that too, but it does really benefit the bigger group mostly. Also ZOS had a problem with people essentially losing control of their characters with no way to counter it.

not sure, some of those zergballs have enough Purge spam to even get through 5+ oils all stacked on top of each other like they were in the old days.. changes to seige made purge spam so prominent....

well, i guess smart groups could time their oils easily but im still sure that alot of the best zerg groups are almost immune to anything but another Proxydet stacking Dragon Leaping, Steel Tornado spamming with purge every halfsecond and 20+ Healing circles stacked.

nothing but a corrdinated group could really make ground oils timed close enough to deal the damage needed to wipe a hyper zerg through their heals, with the DOT being completly ineffective and all...

"Ground oil" is ridiculous because what ESO tried to do with oil is straight from medieval times. And that means it is meant to be poured from a height. If you want ground oil ZOS should just put a WW2 era flamethrower in the game.

Take away shield stacking (give everyone maximum one shield up at time) and watch the zergs show up and be extinguished. When tight blob of people show up trying to cause trouble and are surrounded by many enemies bombarding them, and they have one shield.... Yeah

As Telel finds tower farming scrubs to be more obnoxious than packs of mug scrubs they would rather not see the return of ground oils.

Unless friendly fire was added to said ground oils, and ZOS did not tell the first group of newb farmers who thought they were about to be clever by filling the floor of a tower with them.. >:)

This one instead proposes that ice, scattershot, and lightning siege be made useful while at the same time making oil catapults unpurgeable.

i will restate it a 1000 times... Lightning ballistas are really good due to snare+dot while only being slightly weaker than Fire ballistas.

in a situation where you might get a kill with a fire ballista you can get kills even easier with lightning generally.
