Strategies for Replacing Zone Chat on Console

Does anyone have suggestions about how zone chat might be replaced on the console? The console won't have text-based zone chat and voice will be limited to fairly close proximity. I'm wondering what strategies players might use to do things like:
  • let others know when world bosses and dolmens are up
  • recruit to guilds.

Any ideas?

Honestly, World Bosses and Dolmens are effectively always up. Re-spawn times are really fast. What people are really saying is that they are standing next to one and need help.

You could LFG tool both those things in Beta and on release. We used it to form groups all the time, and usually ran around and killed the rest of the bosses and dolmens. Did they take that option out?( i'm at work and can't check). I would assume it is in the console LFG tool.

For PvP an idea might be for each alliance to have a couple of PvP guilds.

IF I understand correctly, you can have two voice channels active at once. So you can have your group chat, plus also be able to speak in guild chat so that you can let your alliance members on the other side of the map know you need help etc.

But I might not be understanding how it works properly.

It looks like you could coordinate guilds that way. Representatives from guilds form a group, and help organize guilds together. Won't help with random people.

I think an issue might be for people who want to find the right guild but don't frequent (or perhaps even know about) the guild recruitment forums. It seems to me that they might be reliant upon just stumbling across the right person or overhearing a conversation they walk/run past. As they won't see guild announcements in zone chat, they may not become aware of what guilds are out there.

Yes....make friends on the console using the many forum posts here and on console forums.

Play with others vs being a loner

    Use the games systems

Start participating in -in-game events or learn how to host them yourself.

    Make new friends

Adjust to not being on PC by not doing things as you would on PC and go with the flow is the biggest thing if you've not played other online console games with voice chat.
