I have exploited being able to be in the AoE hit zone of an oil pour by friendly players for as long as I can remember. I have been pouring the oil on myself since release. Its always felt "off" to me and I would like to see AoE added to all siege. Now as a guild we sometimes pass the crown to a tank and focus meatbag and oil catapults on their location.

You could have a friendly fire rating too, so you could have a title for pro siege users "Siege Engineer". If your rating of friendly fire was too high - you could be put on a siege lockout. There are many ways to stop abuse!!

Siegeing is immersive enough. Just fix the buggy abilities and exploits.1 -

demonlkojipub19_ESO✭✭✭✭✭I have an alternative ideaIts perfectly logical that siege weapons don't have friendly fire. They're magical, just like everything else in the game. That firepot oil has a mind of its own, a magical one, and knows not to harm its owner or its owners friends.

Yup, if we are to have friendly fire then let's have it on all AoE damage, not just siege weaponry.
It won't happen but it would be great to actually apply more strategy in battle rather than having groups wade in with impulse and swarm.

I'm pretty sure it would be possible to create a good reward / punishment system that prevents people from griefing. But they should solve the server lag issue before adding more calculations to pvp.1 -

✭It's fine the way it is, haters gonna' hateI dont think it's wise to give us a tool that can kill allies. Many raids, groups and players would intentionally siege their own faction. To harass, to troll or just because pissed about some def tick or AP "leeching".
There's also problems today with spying and poor sportsmanship from enemy factions alts. Not only do they reveal plans and locations, but also scroll trolling being a pretty common occurrence. Giving enemy alts siege power is madness. Any one remember troll camps? This would be even worse.
Already way to much drama and bad feelings within most factions. We dont need more.

Friendly fire everything, not just aoe! Then we could watch the real skill quarrels ignite here. You have to be sure you can pick AND hit the right targets. I wonder how well the self-policing would work if there were enough serious players. It is a fun thought at least, considering the concerning state PVP finds itself in.Looking for broken things in hopes they may be fixed. I've given up, my game literally works differently from yours.
