regen rate (since there is no longer a cap) or max (magicka/stam/health)

I have a question about hidden crafting sets:
My Magicka build Templar (Healer/DPS) is about to hit VR14.
I've been using the following:
5-piece Seducer
3/4-piece Magnus (depending if I have a 2H staff or dual-wield daggers).

Enchants:
Half Max Magicka and half Max Health enchants, with magicka cost reduction on my jewelry.

Trait:
Divines

Mundus Stone:
Atronach (magicka regen)

question:
I picked the mundus stone buff trait to help my magicka regen. Since there is no cap on regen now, I thought I'd get more bang for my buck getting my regen as high as possible. Someone in my guild suggested Infused (if I was going to go with really good enchants).

With no cap on regen rates now, are people still going with Max (magicka/stam) or increase to regen rate?

And if you had to pick 2 set bonuses for a magicka build, which 2 would it be?

Any thoughts?

Personally, I use gear that increase my stats. And I use drinks instead of food and atronach mundus. I dont think you need more then around 1.7-1.8k magicka regen. Anything more then that and its too much. Just pop a potion for the very few times you actually run out of mana.

Personally I like the healer set very much, cyrodiil light and silks of the sun.

    Try it?

No, seriously, you identify some options so why not simply experiement and see what works for you?

I never understand this thing of asking about something that's so easily testable. If you're running out of Magicka in longer fights then clearly your regen needs work, if you're not, it doesn't.

Why do people ask what others are doing rather than seeing what works for themselves?

Depends entirely on what you want your magicka build to do...

If it's a DPS build then the two set bonuses you want are Spell power and then max magicka. Note spell power i smost important.

If it's a healing build then you then need to add in magicka regen.... regen is key in healer builds as you can't afford to run out.
Also if you can get in some extra spell power then great, as that will make your heals more powerful.

If you do a bit of both healing & DPS'ing then you can mix regen, spell power & max magicka, but obviously you won't have the optimal stats for one particular role.

Don't ignore the spell power would be my advice. Its very easy to just add in extra magicka & regen... but without the spell power your DPS & heals will hit like a wet noodle.... and set bonuses are the most efficient place to get a couple of spell power buffs in.

In terms of the trait.... lots of schools of thought. I'm with the one that says in a perfect world I'd go with infused on head, chest & legs and then make sure they had good magicka enchants on those pieces..... that helps with your max magicka the most. And then Divines on the smaller pieces.

At V14 I'd maybe look to get a mixture of a 5 piece healer set (Inc Jewellery) as this covers all bases for you, and then add in 4 piece martial knowledge for magicka & spell power. And then perhaps another 2 piece crafted set for magicka regen.... like Seducer for example. Cost reduction glyphs on all the jewellery. Atronach mundus for healing... if you wanted serious DPS then swap to apprentice.

That should give you a pretty well balanced setup between DPS & heals.

Thanks for the responses, I particularly appreciate @Flaminir lengthy, insightful comment.

@fromtesonlineb16_ESO And I asked the general population to see if it was common knowledge or if someone had any particular knowledge. I don't have to burn some blue or purple glyphs on what might be a well-known bad combination.

    Thanks Olsborg

Also thinking of the Twice Born set - double mundus buff and add on top of it enchants to enhance max magicka/reduce spell cost. With 2 mundus buffs, you could have magicka regen & max magicka, or regen/healing buff (The Ritual).

Thanks again for theory crafting/idea bashing around with me.

I found it better to use DRINK for the mana recovery and items for max mana and max spell damage

My templar healer\dps has 2150 spell power, 30k mana and 20k health, 50% spell crit and I use DRINK to give me mana recovery.

Sorry for the necro but just found this thread and was wondering how @Natjur was getting this kind of stats.
Is it with PvP buffs ?
