Hello everybody,

some of you perhaps know me, I am the admin of eso-schatzsucher.de, a german fansite for ESO. Keldor and I started a skillplanner projects some months ago in german and now we want to translate it in english and french. The name is "ESO-Skillwerkstatt". After the release of FR/EN Version the project will be renamed to ESO-Skillfactory.com.

>> Here you can have a look at our project! <<

For the french version we have two players of the guild Vindicte, who help us with the translation.

But we still need 2 EN-Players who can help us with the correction of our "school english".

All Skills in the database will be in DE/FR/EN with patch 2.0.8. German is finished, french is 1/3 finished, english skills are completely missing, but we can type them with our screens of the game into our skillplanner.

So it would be very nice, if two of you want to help us with this project, we need:
  • Two very good english writing/reading persons

The procedure:
  • If you are interested, please write a message to @Chufu here in the forums.
  • If we choose you, you'll get the login to our test-server of the skillplanner and the language-files.
  • We can offer you forum-, skype- or mailcontact. You have to read the whole website and look for mistakes of our english-translation and to organise the vampire-skillline and emperor-skillline (screens) in english.
  • After your work is done you'll get a trophy in your profile in the skillplanner for your special work!

After you helped us, we'll finish the EN/FR Version and then it will be a great release with all actual skills for patch 2.0.8 in all 3 languages.

This is the plan

We're looking forward to hearing from you soon, guys!

Yours sincerly
Maggy

    Hello guys,

I just want to push this thread, because we are working very hard for our project and we want to release the Multi-language-version (EN/FR) as soon as possible.

So please, help us by correcting our english-phrases of the whole website. Contact @Chufu for more informations or have a look to the thread above.

Maybe a little preview can persuade you? ;)

Why next to the word English do you have an American flag?

That would be like putting the flag of Djibouti next to the word French.

Is a dream a lie if it don't come true, or is it something worse.

They use American spelling, as does ESO, so the American flag fits perfectly. The British flag would require changing many words to a version inconsistent with in-game spelling.

My point was not about spelling.

My point was that the USA is a former British colony that now uses English as an Official Language, the same as Djibouti being a former French colony than now uses French as an Official Language.

There is no "American" Language, and the Flags are being used as indicators of Language, not Geography.

Furthermore, there is no such thing as "American spelling", there is the correct English spelling and then everything else is just wrong.

Sure... people are doing a wonderful job for their own enjoyment but also for the entire community but other people (usually those who do nothing for the community) pick up a tiny unimportant detail and criticize !

Congratulations to Chufu and his team for this wonderful work (which is desperately needed, I've been looking for an up-to-date and functional multi-language skill simulator for ESO for quite a while).

Unfortunately I'm not an english native speaker so I can't help you but I thank you anyway for all this great work.

    Actually, this is completely false.

Here is an image from the project creation screen of Trados 2014, the most prolific translation software suite in the world. Notice how country flags are used to denote language variants. And notice how there are many variants of English, some more different than others but all having their own little quirks (largely to do with spelling and punctuation):

"American" is not a language -- anyone with even an elementary education knows that -- it is a language variant, just as British English is. You seem to have some sort of nationalistic bias, which is not uncommon, but don't spread misinformation on the forums.

    Thanks for your comments, @Gandrhulf_Harbard, @Rosveen, @anitajoneb17_ESO and @Valymer!

Keldor and I decided to use the flags as a geographic sign. We know, that there are much more countries who speaks DE/FR/EN, but we want to show the "main"-regions with the flags, there is no "nationalistic" background and we don't intend to flame anyone.

So in our opinion, the main regions of these languages are:

    DE - Germany (german flag)
    FR - France (french flag)
EN - America & Great britain (double flag)

Therefore we changed the flags like this:
