PS4/XBox1 Digital Editions: Will there be a preload?

I have a few friends that are going to be joining me on PS4. And theyre looking at the Digital Editions because theyre a little cheaper thanks to PSPlus. The thing theyre concerned with is if theyll be preloading the games files before the release so to ease the size of the download come release. Much like some games on PC do.

What about a preload for people who have purchased the physical edition but have to wait for it in the mail? So your saying they could miss the launch as they are relying on the postal service? I think all PREORDERS should be about to PRELOAD, whether it be digital or physical, and of course there would be a grace period for the physical edition owners to obtain thier copies.0 -

I just read the portion of your Q and As for Console. Looks like youre right. Youll be able to pre-download. Actually, I know that some disk games from Gamestop or the like had the preorder bonus code printed on the preorder receipt the moment you preordered it. You could then redeem that code for whatever preorder incentive it had immediately, be it a theme, soundtrack, preloading, whatever. This was stopped though, maybe a couple years ago when they switched to only printing the preorder bonus code after release due to fraudulant behavior.

I agree, but realistically, how can ZoS tell you have it preordered? With the abscence of the thing I mentioned in my last reply, I just don't see how. Why not issue all physical retailers who have ordered a physical copy (like EB Games) a preload code to go with each physical copy, that they then supply to the customer who pre-orders the game? That way, nobody misses out due to buying a physical copy of the game. (And I am speaking to someone who is in a remote location with no stores close and require all games to be sent through the mail).0

For this game on PC if you purchased the disc, you didn't have a pre installed version unless you were in beta.
If you paid for digital you did have it pre installed.
In the console
Market all games follow that same logic but on console beta games don't usually upgrade to the full game
