can not meet friend (same EU servers)

hello

a friend bought ESO we tried to meet many times at the same spot but never see each other nor can we add each other on the friends list it keeps saying player not found. tied with @ , etd ids

but also never can see each other in same town...
any idea?

    Some special characters in names cause problems inside the game, so be aware of that. Try both player name and account name.

    The reason you do not see each other is because the megaserver has "channels" that players are put into when they enter an area. Not everyone is put in the same channel and with no knowledge that the two of you are friends, or looking for each other, it does not know to put you into the same channel.

    Customer support can probably help if there is a special character issue, although I am not sure what they do.

    Well, if you are both on the same server, the 'add friend' with @username should always work, i can't really point anything other than different servers... Different platforms, perphaps? PC, XBOX and PS4 servers are all separate, no cross-platforming allowed, even on beta

    and no we use both PC.
    when trying to send something email etc it says unknown player.
    he tried sending me something but i never received

    Sounds like an issue for support to look into.

    different instances... Travel to Player will put you in same instance.

    This. Try Travel to Player. If it doesn't work, I see no other option but to get Support involved.

    Are you members of a same guild?

    If so does the other person show up in the guild roster & can you travel to them?

    Beyond that... yes, probably a support issue.

    Are you guys sure you're on the same server? In the launcher, it'll say "The Elder Scrolls Online (EU)" or "The Elder Scrolls Online (NA)". Might wanna both double check that.

    Is one of you logging into the PTS instead?

    Same thing there. Can't find man by @ when adding friend.
    Game just don't show the man with that @userID . No special characters in userID.

    Did one or both of you just start playing? When a friend had just started playing neither of us could see each other's account names. I think we tried again the next day and it worked fine, and has ever since.

    thanks for help everyone. he managed to fix it . he redownloaded game again and switched to europe server again.
