I really don't want to debate this anymore, I would simply like a solution. How about we just charge the late comers $40-$50 bucks for the transfer and call it good? We get what we want and they get what they want. Is this that difficult? To do anything else is moronic. Why lose customers over a deadline that shouldn't have been there in the first place? Why turn down more money? A lot of other games do transfers so don't tell me it cant be done (Neverwinter), don't tell me its too difficult to implement or that the console makers don't want to cooperate (because that is their goal, to have less gamer's playing less games).
Frankly I don't care when you bought the pc version (before 6/30/15 or not), if you pay for the transfer you should be good.
Via a special offer, anyone who purchases and activates the PC/Mac version of The Elder Scrolls Online by 6/30/14 (11:59pm UTC) will have the opportunity to transfer their character(s) to either console version when they are released.

The pertinent point here is:Via a special offer, anyone who purchases and activates the PC/Mac version of The Elder Scrolls Online by 6/30/14 (11:59pm UTC) will have the opportunity to transfer their character(s) to either console version when they are released.
Now I concede that they make it clear it is an opportunity, not a guaranteed service.
However they are quite specific that this opportunity will be offered when they are released.
If the OP is an EU citizen I'd recommend they contact their respective consumer rights body.

I am not responsible for your lack of reading comprehension.
I even emboldened the bit that makes the OP's points valid.
Not sure what else I can do TBH.

You forgot to embolden the "Via a special offer" part. Everyone who took advantage of the special offer will have their characters transferred to console when the game is released.

The ONLY clause of importance here is the one that sets a timeframe.
No one is arguing about it being a special offer.
The debate is about WHEN that offer was advertised to happen: "when they are released".
The information doesn't say "there will be a special offer prior to release that will take effect upon release"; if it said that ESO would in the clear.
It quite specifically states "Via a special offer, anyone who purchases and activates the PC/Mac version of The Elder Scrolls Online by 6/30/14 (11:59pm UTC) will have the opportunity to transfer their character(s) to either console version when they are released.

You just joined today? Yet when I made my account to play I had to setup forums account same time. I don't get it, you couldn't have missed it, you were never signed up for it.

I actually missed the forum account registration early on as well. Checked through my Gmail archive, but couldn't find it. Had to get customer service to create my forum username for me.

"when they are released" does not refer back to the "special offer" or to the "opportunity" but to the part that immediately precedes it which is "to transfer their character(s) to either console version". The "they" is in reference to the console version, not the characters or the opportunity. Therefore, your "ONLY clause of importance" applies only to those that partook of the "opportunity".
As I stated elsewhere, the key word is "opportunity". The special offer applies to everyone in before 6/30/14, the timeframe addresses the transfer of the characters, but nowhere does it state that characters for everyone who purchased by 6/30/14 will be transferred. Quite the opposite, everyone in by 6/30/14 will simply be offered the "opportunity". Which they were.
Read the sentence again: what does "anyone..." get? They get an "opportunity" not a "when they are released".
It doesn't matter what it says. It was an older publication that was invalidated by a later/future statement/email. There's no sense in having a debate regarding outdated publications that are no longer valid...

yeah, I had to have customer service to make my account for me. This was the only topic that got me upset enough to want a forum account.

Whether you decide to take advantage of this offer or not, we promise to do everything we can to get the game released on both consoles as quickly as we can. We will keep everyone updated with additional details regarding character transfers, specific offer dates, when you can expect console beta to start, and of course, when ESO on consoles will launch.

agreed not doing it the month the game comes out is dumb. its like they planed it so ppl would miss out on the deal.animalchubs wrote: »BigM, It had nothing to do with memory. First off it takes time for them to make the application to where they can transfer accounts without any issues. They could not have known back then how long it would take them and longer still to make sure it worked without any problems.
I just hope you and the others have learned an important lesson and make sure the next game you setup email the right way and keep your eye on it for any updates and deals.
Just wrong in so many ways to blame ZoS they did everything right and you just can't say they were at fault.
By the way I felt when they went B2P it wasn't fair and what they gave us wasn't fair. But I let it go accepted it after my little tantrums and darn it I love the game.
I am devastated I'm never now able to transfer my pc to console mainly for my collections which is all of em loyalty included i play regularly and never received an email or saw it elsewhere, maybe its my bad but not everyone follows twitter and facebook.
But there is nothing we can do but accept it now, I have tried to email and plead with them but they don't seem to care.
Thing is ZOS don't seem to care about the PC players, never have really. So why do you think they are going to help us now when 'we'are the ones that missed out.
It was an offer, some took advantage of it, others missed the boat. /shrugs
It looks like (from the forums at least) not many people actually did take advantage of the transfer to console, which is good in some sense because there is going to be major QQíng from console users. Can you imagine the first time a level 10 console player comes to cyrodiil and meets a player that has had over 12mths experience behind them, dropped and crafted gear plus 100+ CP?
The QQíng will be real.
P.S. Can I just say, I'm married, with kids, a full time job, and many, many other interests outside ESO and yet I still managed to set aside some time to make sure I didn't miss out on the transfer. Life being busy isn't an excuse I can use with my boss, my wife or anyone really.
The me generation needs to look at themselves.
