New content is something that needs to come regularly in order to give players new interests. This is a no brainer.

ZoS couldn't do the 4-6 week thing, now nothing until AC (After Console).

It's concerning that not only does it seem very difficult to follow this basic idea in order to keep customers going, but remember, when they release new stuff, usually it's jacked up and they don't have time to come back to fix things as a follow up stage to implementation.

New content is needed, new content that isn't full of holes. Don't know if that is within the realm of possibility.

well, NO MMO can ever get good, non-glitchy content out every month, that was delusional, stupid, idiotic thinking by the devs.

i think they could do it, but ever since launch, ZoS, and possibly Zeni, decided to get cheap. Not enough GMs, CS, fixing issues (they did fix a lot, sure, but not enough to avoid horrrrrrid reviews). It's been duct taped ever since, seemingly hanging on by a string. Seems pretty clear that there are resource issues occurring.

But who knows what goes on inside a corp. They invested millions into this game and who knows, got scared? Moved assets into something else? Decided to really test the ZoS team? Spun a wheel of fortune and the ball stopped on "cut losses"? Soooo much potential but dropped onto a new team, new subsidary of Zeni, new format of game (MMO). A lot of reasons are possible for why the product is in the state it is.

And I'm not buying the we're putting everything on hold because of console launch line. It should be an expansion, not a shift. They should get more resources to expand into console, not drop everything on PC. Of course, that comes back to resources. It's clear they are on a skeleton status. Remember, they wanted console released a long time ago, after PC launch, and that got majorly delayed. Lots of aspirations, and I don't think they were delusional, more likely it was within their reach, but something happened. Of course, they could have been full of hot air the whole time, but then why would they risk totally ruining the TES franchise?

    shrug

    Dear @ZoS,

I have run many guilds in many MMOs and this is the longest I have gone without content. What are you thinking? Do you not think new content is needed? If that was the case, we would all still be playing Pong on Atari. How much is AD paying you to hold content so all the EP raid guilds quit? My guild Da Funk is hemorrhaging raiders by the minute now! To be honest you are killing your game. Do you think players will return and not be satisfied by the other games out? I have an idea....Lets send out emails about new mounts/pets/costumes so previous players unsubscribe and then do not receive the important New Content emails which hopefully will draw them back. Maybe you should continue the road of using us PC players as beta console testers and give us the DLCs to test for them. Or how about actually using the PTS and give us content on there to do as a guild. Otherwise the way i see it, you can just shut down all PC servers, save us the time and stop stringing us along. I had high hope for this game and company but repeated lies and deception is burning your player base. We all know once a gamer is scorn, rarely do they return/promote/advise others to play your game. If you do not release info or content to PC players soon, consider just shutting it all down.

    Sincerely,
    A concerned Guild Leader

There's going to be so much disappointment and tears after the console launch when nothing changes, and all of their focus stays on the cash store.

I had at least 3000 hours logged in WoW and I was still not bored. A good MMO won't get boring, it just sucks you in more and more.

I agree completely. The daily pledges aren't even fun anymore more so than a chore. There's only so many times you can do the same dungeon over and over again. Endless grinding with nothing new to look at is extremely boring and dull. Something needs to come soon for sure or people will drop like flies. Just bringing in the Console isn't going to keep the game afloat if nothing new is added. It will be the same boring things to do on console.

I hear E3 is coming soon and the Oculus Rift is going on sale soon

    OR

You could start some random in-game events

Occulus Rift has had a "probably" 2nd quarter 2016 release attached to it, they have halted OSX/Linux development to focus Windows, in order to reach such a date.....

mind you with Suckydude now owning it, I'm sure it will cost an arm and a leg.

The expensive thing about the Oculus Rift isn't the headset itself, it's the computer you'll need to run it without puke-inducing fps.

@Pallmor But hey, you can walk around in some next-gen environment where you can interact with your Facebook friends, which has never, ever been done before...

On the cover "take a break for a while" sounds like good advice, and likely would be without the champion system...however those looking for an MMO, if they do return, *I* don't think even half will stay finding themselves months behind other players.

I see a hole ZOS has dug themselves into by ignoring the pc base that there isn't really any way to get out of without alienating one group of players or another further. (just my opinion ofc)
If options weren't necessary, and everyone played the same way, no one would use addons. Fix the UI!

It seems a lot of people missed a small comment that Kai made in twitch chat on last Fridays ESO live...

When everybody was constantly saying 'Why don't you answer the question of when the new content is coming in the 'ask us anything' section?'....... Kai's response in chat was to say that we shouldn't expect them to steal their own thunder with the E3 show just around the corner.

SO basically... they are planning to announce something at E3 is how this clearly sounds. They already said that Imperial City is next, so I guess the only thing left is to announce a rough timeframe.... E3 would seem a logical time to do this anyway.

E3 is about 2 weeks away for those who don't know...

Playing an MMO is a progressive investment. Players going to other games will develop characters, friends, etc. Even if they make ESO... decent... getting those players back will not be easy. The longer this goes on, the more likely players will find and get attached to another MMO. ZoS has a huge attractor in the "elder scrolls" namesake but judging from the 100s and 100s of players i've seen go inactive in guilds, that attraction only goes so far.

MMO biz is sink or swim. They have to consistently be competitive and driven and invest resources back into it in order to have customer retention and long term success, unless the intention is to be a game that just cashes in and crashes.

ZoS higher-ups, as developers of this MMO, with previous experience developing other MMOs, one would think this would be a well known concept and would keep that on the forefront in all planning for the game.

It's like the restaurant biz. If a customer has enough bad experiences, they will try other restaurants. The more time they are in another restaurant (without bad experiences) the more they get comfy there and loyal there. Getting those customers back can possibly be done but usually requires a lot of incentive (like free meals, come back and try us again type promotions), if a restaurant is in trouble enough to be hemorrhaging customers, they usually can't afford to rebrand and just wind up going under.

Ok, I really love ESO but it is beginning to get quite stale and boring, I've played through the game 3 times with over 600 hours playtime and I just can't really bring myself to do much anymore other than get my hirelings on all my seven character and feed my mounts.

I agree with this, but at the same time, when you put 500+ hours into any game... eventually things can get stale. Sometimes it's okay to see other games for a while.

I have completed the game fully (Main Story) with only 3 characters but I have seven in total. 3 Are above level 50 and 4 are below. Does this explain your confusion. I get the level 1 hireling on all my Alts just for the extra materials.

Also, if they are going to show some things at E3 then I am really excited.

However ZOS these things better not be like Quakecon 2014 where you talked about SO MUCH stuff. 90% of which has not been implemented yet. So please do not give us false hope and give us DATES for the content! Rather than saying that you're going to add 2 new zones and all this other stuff and then hardly add anything and talk about the infamous Console Release.
