How about a zone for fast tracking alts?

Was thinking, why isn't there a place for people developing, say, their fourth alt, where they can do it really quickly? I mean, imagine an un-nerfed Craglorn for example, that could be accessed only by people who have finished Caldwells Gold? I was thinking about this since I greatly dread how long it might take a casual hanger like myself to build the Templar put the Nightblade I wanted to try out. I don't want to be still developing them in three or four months, and as the game is set up now I probably won't bother.

I can see a possible problem with people exploiting such a zone to get champion points, but there might be a way around that.

I imagine this is what orsinium, wrothgar and murkmire Will be for; not fast track leveling but alternate methods of leveling. If they truly are going to remove vet levels, then the DLC won't increase the vet cap.

I'm with you. I hate/loathe grinding, but at the same time, I hate/loathe having to do Stormhaven for the 4th time...

Simply having alternatives to the main quests for levelling would work for me :)

I would imagine that's why if you do "everything" you are over-leveled. It was made that way originally, but some of us OCD gamers insisted on doing it "all".

Tenesi Faryon of Telvanni - Dunmer Sorceress who deliberately sought sacrifice into Cold Harbor to rescue her beloved.
Hisa Ni Caemaire - Altmer Sorceress, member of the Order Draconis and Adept of the House of Dibella.
Broken Branch Toothmaul - goblin (for my goblin characters, I use either orsimer or bosmer templates) Templar, member of the Order Draconis and persistently unskilled pickpocket
Mol gro Durga - Orsimer Socerer/Battlemage who died the first time when the Nibenay Valley chapterhouse of the Order Draconis was destroyed, then went back to Cold Harbor to rescue his second/partner who was still captive. He overestimated his resistance to the hopelessness of Oblivion, about to give up, and looked up to see the golden glow of atherius surrounding a beautiful young woman who extended her hand to him and said "I can help you". He carried Fianna Kingsley out of Cold Harbor on his shoulder. He carried Alvard Stower under one arm. He also irritated the Prophet who had intended the portal for only Mol and Lyris.
    ***
Order Draconis - well c'mon there has to be some explanation for all those dragon tattoos.
House of Dibella - If you have ever seen or read "Memoirs of a Geisha" that's just the beginning...
Nibenay Valley Chapterhouse - Where now stands only desolate ground and a dolmen there once was a thriving community supporting one of the major chapterhouses of the Order Draconis

Pfffttttt... there are two parts to levelling an alt, the main story, and the veteran ranks.

The former will always have to remain, noone should ever get all the game without going through that. I've gone through it six times now, and two more characters are working on it... yes, its a bit slow going since there is some strain doing the well known quests once again, though it is also sometimes interesting - in an "how will this character do against the fight I had trouble with on that character?" way...

And the latter will eventually be replaced by the champoin system anyhow, though any who skip cadwells will miss out on a bunch of skill points, and rightly so...
Want all the goodies? Do all the work. Don't ask for shortcuts.

There are other games that give people the opportunity to pay for a fully developed alt... games I'd avoid. And I for one am very happy ESO isn't going that route...

To be quite frank, I think people rushing to end-game are ruining this game...

I understand people don't want to do the same things again and again on their alts when they've already leveled one character to max. But the game can't be designed around this case and ruined for everyone else. I'd much rather people be given the option to purchase a V14 character for money than veteran ranks be removed (in addition to all the nerfs to veteran content that ZOS already put in place).

To answer OP's question, it is because there isn't a zone set up for this. Future DLC that will incorporate zones may utilize level-scaling, but we are not there yet and we do not know the specifics of these.

Levelling alts doesn't take that long. Less than 24 hours from 1-50, and around 20 days or less to go through VR level (I've leveled 3 already) doesn't take that long [This DO change depending on your play style of course ].

Sigh, long lost are the days gaining one level a week and dying would mean losing exp. We have it so easy these days in this MMORPG age.

Levelling an alt might take a day for someone who can spend all day non stop playing. I am lucky if I get in 24 hrs of game time in a whole week. Very lucky. I haven't been out of enlightenment since the champion points came in, put it that way. I guess I shall never play as anything other than my current main...because grinding an alt would take someone like me months that i would rather spend on new gaming experiences rather repeating the main story here over and over.

I am thinking well ahead, since I have yet to reach v14 or complete Caldwells Gold yet. And I started playing in Decemeber. Hardly rushing to the endgame....

This is very true and I agree! I only get very limited play time per week but I am really enjoying the game and taking me time with the story and quests as I have with all Elder Scrolls games. People have no patience anymore!

That is a TERRIBLE idea selling v14's even if it is to try and save veteran ranks! That is borderline P2W. I won't say it is P2W as long as they wouldn't be geared since this would only be a time saving/convenience thing but it skips the entire game by opening your wallet. I don't mind seeing some convenience items in the store but selling a max level is bordering on that line, if they are geared then it has now crossed that line. At most if they ever went this route and I hope they DON'T, then sell nothing higher than level 50 so people still have to at least do the veteran levels and put some investment into their characters because we all know too many people can't play the class properly, more so if they had no time to learn it.

Oh how I miss DAoC when it took months to hit level 50 and I played a LOT back then lol and losing exp when killed. Things are WAY to easy these days and people still complain. The level of self-entitlement and wanting everything for nothing these days is sickening! As mentioned above, I have very limited play time but I love that it's not stupid easy/fast levelling like other MMO's.

Not saying this game is "hard", but it's a much slower pace and time investment than most others out there and I like it this way. Of course, I haven't hit 50 yet with a character as I am trying out different classes to see which I will like most before investing in levelling the vet ranks with my limited play time.

Ruining it for themselves maybe....i agree that much. But ruining it for anyone else? I can't see how.

I missed the part in my post about skipping the main story entirely for new players... But that is most likely because I wouldn't ever suggest that.

I would prefer more lands to explore than xp potions in the crown store.... But either one will earn Zos some more of my money.

Did the story line on my first two characters. That alone is eeeentislly doing the same story six times. I still stopped and smelled the roses on certain quests for the third and fourth characters.

While I've spent much time in game, I'd hardly say I rushed my first two characters.

If it gets too common, it does impact other players. Having people zoom by you constantly so that you end up being the last to arrive somewhere can have consequences. This is an MMO and pretty much every where you go, there are people. Like it or not, characters are compared. The solo hermits probably would not notice, but when it is easy for people to get to end-game, that tends to become expected. People who are leveling can be ignored because they will be along in a few hours, once they arrive at the end-game. Grouping may end up preferring end-game characters simply because "everyone" is end-game, so why other with the stragglers. New content may favor end-game characters, for the same reason. The perception is that end-game characters are better and that is where everyone wants to be, and as quickly as possible. People want to be on top, with everyone else that is important.

In addition to that, ZOS will keenly pick up on this and make sure that the Crown Store is well stocked with stuff to make leveling faster. That, by itself, is not the issue. The issue is that, in the end, it makes rushing to the end-game institutionalized, and more common.

Once the drive to end-game becomes institutionalized, it is just fantasy for a person to think that it does not matter.
