Mount 'Feeding' Question

I know this has been beat to death, but I'm still not 100% certain on how this works...

I've been reading that you can keep 'training' / 'feeding' until you're 60/60/60.

To do this do you need 3 different mounts, and train them on the respective stats? Or can you keep one Mount and achieve max stats?

Reason I ask, I can no longer feed / train...but I'm not at 60/60/60...and I'm afraid to buy another mount to test. I don't want another mount if this system doesn't require it.

This pertains to multiple characters I have. Working as intended (and I'm just misunderstanding), or am I bugged?

The way I understand it, mount stats are no longer dependent on the mount, but on the character, while the different "mounts" are basically just visual effects.

Train your characters "riding skill" to 60/60/60, and if you switch "mounts", because you buy a new one from the crown store for example, you will still have those stats...

If you cannot train anymore and yet are not yet at max skill... something might be wrong I suppose...

Yeah, you should be able to "train" each character to 60/60/60. If that's not happening, maybe file a bug report?

If you don't have a mount checked in your collection it will not let you train riding.

Mounts are just skins now. You train your Riding Skill on each individual character, once per day to a max of 60/60/60.
You can only train one skill a day so check your timer when you talk to the Stablemaster.

As said above, if that's not working you may want to contact Support (not /bug as that's just a bug ticket and won't get you a response)

    This.

Do it once a day and no matter which mounts u use/have, it will get the upgrade.

Not true. You will be given a warning that none of the trainings will apply until you get a mount, but you can still do them.
Tenesi Faryon of Telvanni - Dunmer Sorceress who deliberately sought sacrifice into Cold Harbor to rescue her beloved.
Hisa Ni Caemaire - Altmer Sorceress, member of the Order Draconis and Adept of the House of Dibella.
Broken Branch Toothmaul - goblin (for my goblin characters, I use either orsimer or bosmer templates) Templar, member of the Order Draconis and persistently unskilled pickpocket
Mol gro Durga - Orsimer Socerer/Battlemage who died the first time when the Nibenay Valley chapterhouse of the Order Draconis was destroyed, then went back to Cold Harbor to rescue his second/partner who was still captive. He overestimated his resistance to the hopelessness of Oblivion, about to give up, and looked up to see the golden glow of atherius surrounding a beautiful young woman who extended her hand to him and said "I can help you". He carried Fianna Kingsley out of Cold Harbor on his shoulder. He carried Alvard Stower under one arm. He also irritated the Prophet who had intended the portal for only Mol and Lyris.
    ***
Order Draconis - well c'mon there has to be some explanation for all those dragon tattoos.
House of Dibella - If you have ever seen or read "Memoirs of a Geisha" that's just the beginning...
Nibenay Valley Chapterhouse - Where now stands only desolate ground and a dolmen there once was a thriving community supporting one of the major chapterhouses of the Order Draconis

First of all, you only need (if you want) to train ONE mount per character, each mount of this character will have the same stats automatically.

And about the issue you cannot longer feed/train your mount although it's not at 60/60/60.. It's just a guess, but is it possible you didn't have enough gold in your inventory to pay for the training? Because, this happened to me a few times, too, when I went to the stables and wondered about not being able to do that ;)

Good point - I've done that before too. I had plenty of gold in my bank, but none on the character...

Oh yes! I forgot about that. This happened to me a couple of times on my alt that hardly goes questing. I know make sure she goes out at least once a week to earn her "Riding class money"

    Yes, that was it.

I've kept the same amount of $ on each toon, so when one runs out, they all run out.

I must have spent some $ somewhere on two of my toons and hadn't noticed.

Thank you guys for the help! See you in-game. =)

One mount (per character), riding skill is what upgrades.

Would be nice if the "Time to train" icon would cease after hitting the 60/60/60 mark too. It's irritating (especially after checking it religiously for up to 180 days.)

What icon would that be? The one on Character window showing training time? That you only see if you open that view? Any other training timer/reminder would be from an add-on. Hint: turn it off.

Mounts models are account, but mounts stats are character based. A char can use any mount that you have, but each char must feed / train their own mount each.
