Veteran LGF Chat SPAM in Grahtwood

Higher Veteran Players are litteraly spamming the Grahtwood area chat with group search/LFG for dungeons

This is worse than any gold seller spam I saw around a year ago - this is just SPAM.

It is that bad that you cant even have a normal conversation with players at your own level in Grahtwood, almost every second a new chat line pops and people LFG

This is not acceptable if you enter Grahtwood and you cant even have a conversation in this area with people who are leveling in Grahtwood and doing quests.

If you ask them why they dont use the group search tool, they say it does not work or nobody is using it.

So what is the issue here, because people are not using it or does it not work for veteran players ?

This issue needs a solution, please ZOS have a look here.

It isn't restricted to Grahtwood, it happens in all three alliance capital zones because that's where the Undaunted Enclaves are located. At this point it doesn't make any difference why the LFG tool doesn't work, we've been grouping via zone chat for months and it's not going to change unless ZOS adds some real incentive to use the tool (and the tool works flawlessly, but this goes without saying). I apologize for the annoyance, but we aren't spamming the chat out of malice towards lower level players, it's just the only way to PUG pledges. We can't help that ZOS put the Enclaves where they are.

    This.

You can't choose what level you want to pick up there, so group tool will pick up all vets together. In this way VR12+ will have low level loot, and VR1+ will have no loot at all.

So this is mostly unnacceptable for VR12+, because most of them visits dailies for loot, though some low vets visits it for experience mostly, because low vet loot are usable for pair of levels and then goes for deconstruct, but as most players gave up for group tool long time ago, so nobody just use it.

It'll be interesting to see how this works for the no text chat console version... I foresee a lot of group dropping when you end up with a range of players from VR1 to VR14 being grouped together by the LFG tool.

Both. It doesn't work properly and people aren't using it because it doesn't work properly.

For an AD player, the only way to reliably get a PUG for pledges (either the non-vet pledge or the vet pledge) is to post LFG in /zone in Grahtwood. It has to be Grahtwood because that's where the AD Undaunted Enclave is, so that's where all AD players have to go to pick up the pledge.

I mean, you could grab the pledge and then go to one of the Cadwell's Silver or Gold zones (one that's appropriate for your VR level), but you're much much less likely to be able to form a group that way, because the people interested in doing the pledges are going to Grahtwood to pick them up. The population in the Silver and Gold zones is smaller to begin with, and the vast majority of the people there are busy questing or grinding in order to level up, so they're unlikely to be interested in joining a PUG for a pledge.

I'm not sure if this occurs in all 3 Grahtwood instances (low level, Silver, Gold), but if you mean Silver, I can definitely confirm this is true. I'm in Grahtwood since 2 days with my DC char, and the chat gets spammed with this, more than in other zones, of what I've seen (I don't always have the Zone Chat tab open).

Wasn't there something on another thread about the next hotfix/update will remove the restrictions on "be within X level to get loot" for the grouping for vet levels only?

Tenesi Faryon of Telvanni - Dunmer Sorceress who deliberately sought sacrifice into Cold Harbor to rescue her beloved.
Hisa Ni Caemaire - Altmer Sorceress, member of the Order Draconis and Adept of the House of Dibella.
Broken Branch Toothmaul - goblin (for my goblin characters, I use either orsimer or bosmer templates) Templar, member of the Order Draconis and persistently unskilled pickpocket
Mol gro Durga - Orsimer Socerer/Battlemage who died the first time when the Nibenay Valley chapterhouse of the Order Draconis was destroyed, then went back to Cold Harbor to rescue his second/partner who was still captive. He overestimated his resistance to the hopelessness of Oblivion, about to give up, and looked up to see the golden glow of atherius surrounding a beautiful young woman who extended her hand to him and said "I can help you". He carried Fianna Kingsley out of Cold Harbor on his shoulder. He carried Alvard Stower under one arm. He also irritated the Prophet who had intended the portal for only Mol and Lyris.
    ***
Order Draconis - well c'mon there has to be some explanation for all those dragon tattoos.
House of Dibella - If you have ever seen or read "Memoirs of a Geisha" that's just the beginning...
Nibenay Valley Chapterhouse - Where now stands only desolate ground and a dolmen there once was a thriving community supporting one of the major chapterhouses of the Order Draconis

I've heard that too (and a few of us in my guild were discussing it last night), but now I'm unsure what the source of that was. It sure would go a long way towards making grouping for vet dungeons easier.

Cross faction grouping, a LFG/Dungeon channel or persistent queue has been needed since day 1. But so has a better guild system, a better trade system, an improved and more rewarding loot system, PvP that works and templar abilities that aren't plagued with bugs and cooldowns.

But Cross faction grouping is probably "OMG so complicated" for the poor devs to wrap their heads around that implementing it would crash the entire game for a month, cause people to drop group through the floor of dungeons and end up in pvp where they would promptly lag and then die to a one-shot.

I think the point of the OP is that he is questing at his current level and trying to have conversations in zone chat.

Personally, I don't care about zone chat, but it is ruined for those that do.

Not always. I have had some pretty good conversations in Zone at various points. It doesn't happen often as it tends to get eaten by WTS/WTB and LFG spam (especially in Deshaan) but it does happen... and the spam does make it less of a possibility.

I would like to see the addition of two channels, LFG (until they actually get an LFG tool worth looking at) and Trade. While I can understand why people might be against the inclusion of a trade channel (difficult to reach impulse buyers who might not have Trade open at that moment in time) I can't imagine that there is a good reason not to create a LFG channel... for now at least.

Just change factions to Daggerfall Covenant OP. Our low level zones are nice and dead most of the time. Even the undaunted hubs are usually quiet and its impossible to find a group.

I have been in zone chat on my EP or AD toons and its like night and day. There are full on conversations and arguments going on all the time. Not so in DC, there's a little bit of chatter from time to time but its never constant.

want peace and quiet? Switch to DC!

This happens because those veterans wants to do quests too and have no tool to effectively group.
I am pretty sure everyone will agree, including those veterans, this issue needs a solution and ZoS should work on it. The simple one was already mentioned - a dedicated channel for LFG.

Yep! You can find that post in full detail here. Basically, all Veteran players who are grouped for a dungeon will receive loot after we make this change (which we're still aiming to get in for our next incremental patch).

Hello @ZOS_GinaBruno, you should also implement a LFG Channel as mentioned above. If there were a level requirement in the LFG tool that could be entered as well that would help that work better.

Probably going to be put in stocks for this but hay *** here I go- I do agree the lfg thing don't work. Spent about an hour outside a group dungeon then put out a couple of texts saying looking for such n such group. Finally got a group. Also I've mostly soloed as I'm Billy no mates(just joined pvp/pve guild hope to be more social)but I ve liked to do my own thing and got fed up with peeps saying this is how you should play on a game that said at launch play the way you want. Any ways I go in a diversion- so back to topic- when running around questing and looking forward to the day I get r14 (r7 at mo) I like to see people asking for such n such class to join grp- makes me think for a few seconds hey I could join......then I plod on my way looking for that n npc I have to chat with/kill or other. However spam in any context other than monty python or my frying-pan/plate is wrong imo but what is a player to do if they want a group?

As I understand, everyone will have loot of instance level, so if dungeon, for example, scaled to VR6, then everybody will have VR6, and this is still not much interested for VR12+, since they visit dungeons to farm items and monster sets items particularly.

Therefore, this decision will solve problem partly, VR12+ will still spam zonechat that way.
