What should we expect from the next expansion pack after console?

I know it hasn't been discussed, but I hope we can expect something on the scale of what WOW did with The Burning Crusade. 5-6 whole new zones, 2, 24 raids, 1 12 man raid, 5 or so new dungeons, 2 new races with 2 new starting areas and of course all the things that came with that from flying mounts to new gear and new crafting items and a new PVP map (mode) with a domination theme.

I think that expansion ran around $20 USD, can we expect the same value from an expansion sold on the crown store? While I'm using WOW as an example of a typical expansion I don't wish to encourage a debate about the differences between the games, what I am more interested in is what value you expect for $20? Will one trial or Imperial City be grand enough to satisfy you? Would you expect more than that for $20?
“Whatever.”

never played wow but if it was even half of what you just listed I would be ecstatic. I think they are going to release zones independently of each other and not group many together as an expansion pack (although it seems like a great idea)

For 20$ I would expect at least one new zone. Whether it be Wrothgar or Murkmire (both would be even better) but I think Imperial City should be free.

I believe developing content for a 2013(14) game is far more expensive, time consuming and all around more difficult than for an archaic 2005 game. Their outdated visuals require less dev time and input, so they can focus more on actual content.
    Sometimes, I dream about...cheese...

Dermont - v16 Pompous Altmer Sorcerer (With a very arrogant face!)
Egonieser - v16 Nord Stamina Dragonborn Wannabe
Endoly - v16 Tiny Redguard Sharpened MaceBlade
Egosalina - v16 Breton Cheesus Beam Specialist
Egowen - v16 Dunmer Whipping Expert (Riding crops eluded her)
(Yes, I had to grind all these to v16)

You do realize that 1 ESO Zone is about 3 WoW Zones?

Well to be more precise average ESO Zone is 2.54x bigger than average WoW Zone. Of course Craglorn is much bigger than average ESO Zone, so it should push the average very near to 3x. It's more impressive because Tamriel in it's state is much more detailed, and also graphically at least 4 years ahead (of WoD).

So keep that in mind when wishing for a BC-like expansion. 3 ESO Zones in 2 years would probably equal BC. Can ZOS put 2 more Zones in 1 year? I don't see why not.

But if you want a better comparison, compare Tamriel Unlimited / WoD after launch. Both are yet to deliver anything meaningful. To be honest I'd still rather choose nothing over Twitter and Selfie cam, that was quite a disgrace.

The WoW the Burning Crusade expansion was at release in 2007 $40 for the standard edition and $70 for the Collectors Edition.

Nothing is known about the release schedule for the TESO-TU DLC's. I do not expect any DLC that big that it can be compared to a WoW expansion (content wise) will be released; I think ZoS pushes the DLC in smaller packages into the crown store. However this is not based on anything but my own expectations.

Concerning the prices ZoS will charge for the DLC's I have no clue at all; also because ZoS is awfully silent about the whole DLC planning.

They have said on ESO live that developing 1 zone from start to finish takes about 4 months. Once console is out of the way I am hopeful ZOS will get back on track with dlc and make sure that players are not going to have to go through more dry spells of nothingness.

All we know for sure is that any DLC for consoles will hit PC first.
Let's hope for some PC DLC around August Sept and then we may get a console suggested release soon after PC is released

Well it's approximately £5 (£7.74, €7.04) for 1000 crowns, that should show you how much they're charging for cosmetic goods in ESO so actual DLC may be VERY expensive indeed. For an example the "Black Senche-Panther" costs RLC (Real Life Currency) about £12.50 ($19.34, €17.06). The Burning Crusade over here (UK) would have cost about £30 (we're usually 10 bucks under U.S prices) and today it would've been higher as that's not taking in to account for inflation; today it would have cost around the $50-60 (£40-50) mark.

Like the others have mentioned ESO Zones are much bigger and are more detailed, they also wear their influences on their sleeve; WOW use mostly their own fiction they created in the Warcraft series (including the RTS days). What I'd prefer to see is a zone with an arena, something similar to the one in Obliveon and allow us to work with and against other faction members with betting allowed on matches; maybe design this zone with the intention to add housing at a later date? I kind of liked how ArchAge did it for example.

As for the races, I HOPE they don't add any more, we have the ESO staples and it would be weird and lore breaking if they suddenly allowed us to play as Dwemmer for example as they have died off and the Fighters Guild dips their toe in that part of lore. Some appearance altering morphs could be pretty cool though likethe Skeleton one they already have.

For their expansion I'm really hoping for more guilds, and a guild join limiter to go with it. This would stop everyone and their characters getting every single guild skill line on every character (maybe lock it at 3?) this would help prevent characters that don't seem to fit into a guild joining it for the sake of more skills as now they're limited in the guild he/she can join at once. Guilds I'd like to see join-able are The Dark Brotherhood, Thieves Guild, Morag Tong, and how about a New/Imperial Legion.
TDB and MT are two assassin guilds with a hate for each other (some players claim MT were not around in ESO but a few Tong members appear in ESO already in the EP storyline alone), the Thieves Guild and New/Imperial Legion are opposites end of the lore, one dedicated the thievery and the other dedicated to keeping people safe, corruption, and stopping crime.

At an earlier discussion I brought up the idea for a religion system to give players more customisation and allow a skill line with little to no story tied to it. You can find the topic HERE.

They've said they won't be doing large expansions, and I expect them to stick to that plan and continue with zone-sized content updates.

Imperial City should be free, for reasons I have said before, so discounting that, you have the following new content in the works:
    • Wrothgar/Orsinium
    • Thieves Guild/Abah's Landing
    • Dark Brotherhood/Spiral Skein
each of which I would expect to pay around 2500 Crowns for.

You also have the Murkmire Adventure Zone in development, and I'm not sure if that will be paid DLC or not because as an Adventure Zone it doesn't fit with their intended plan for how DLC works.

Finally, according to Twitter, Imperial City will be first with Wrothgar/Orsinium soon after.

I don't see the zones by themselves running as high as $50. What I can see is a staggered release schedule where they drop Imp city, then wrothgar, then murkmire, then cLockwork for $25-$30 each; at which point they will then release a combo pack for about $80 and then release a collector edition of the game that comes with all of it (to grab new players) for about $150 with extra stuff that may or may not actually be cool. I'm expecting all of the announced content to take us to next Christmas before we get more afterwards.
    Pure speculation though.

A poll that appeared on the forums a while back showed less than 10% of people use Steam for ESO. Steamcharts.com show an average of about 3500 players during peak hours over the last 30 days. If we round Steam users to 10% (which, let's be honest, it's probably less than 5%), then we still have 35,000 players on during peak hours. Not great, but about 75% more than your cynical, sarcastic response. Attributing 5% to steam would mean closer to, or more than, 70,000 players during peak hours.

Lets leave it on 35k then (EU/NA), even if so, did u ever play game which have 35k online at the same time? If u ever played WoW on official servers (which have ~100k on each realm), u know that its simply impossible to find on any location place without players, and thats when most of people doing dungeons/pvp. What do u see in ESO? the only place where u can meet someone on peak times is craglorn/cyrodill/stormhaven and few other places. Its not about sarcasm or something, i'm supporting this game since pre-order, its about so MANY players left and we still waiting for everyone "exciting" console release, its about ignorance. I will be not surprised if PC version of a game will be closed due inactivity if consoles will show good results for them, its just sad to see that game have such big potential and 99% of it going for commercial, besides of 50/50 at least for community and game itself.

Do you really can take a walk in Draenor and find someone? Then tell me in what server you're playing. Me, and my friends, old players of WoW had departed because in our server there're was no one to be seen anywhere. Also, again, I don't know if you're playing in NA server, maybe it's different in EU servers but here, in TESO, there are a lot of people everywhere. It¡s hard to walk into dungeons without at least see some players, or even a group. In any zone, veteran, or not veteran.

There hasnt been even confirmation for expansion yet, we dont know if the whole team is working on game now or if its splitted into half, and another half is working on expansion. Nevertheless, around of 2.5 year is realistic to see first expansion, so maybe Christmas 2016.

I personally think they should go to pure free before first expansion, and then with expansion start to ask full price for game again, if they do it, they can get the money from f2p players too, milk the f2p market like 1.5 year. I know its cheeky, but hey, that how it goes, I think it could work if they made some super awesome expansion and try to get the game back on the track.

Are you INSANE OP? As a veteran WoW player myself, I can promise you The Burning Crusade cost $60 at launch. They reduced the price over time, but in 2007 when it was new it cost $60, NOT $20!

Also... never add flying please. Flying really detracted from what wow had.

Also, I don't think lore supports more playable races, though if they could come up with some I'd be all for it.

For $20 I'd expect one new zone for each faction (3 total) plus maybe one new zone similar to craglorn. I'd also expect one new 4 man dungeon in each of said new zone (3 to 4 total) and possibly 1 or 2 new 12 man trials.

I do not expect a level cap raise.
