In most games quest rewards for leveling quests are usually not spectacular and the Cadwell reward is no exception. Being their intent was to make crafting viable in the game, and then it is really just when leveling up, I say they did ok. The only real issue is end game most of the gear is not near desired except what drops in DSA/vDSA.

Granted, the armor/weapon writs have a high cost to perform, but they do deliver gold matts several times a week which is on par with enchanting. Using one data point/one writ as an example does not reflect what actually occurs. Granted, they could toss in a chance for green to purple matts but the game already has plenty of those.

If you read my post, you would see that I agree.

It is extremely frustrating and I submitted a ticket to see if it was a bug to only get 1 trait gem out of the "sack" with a response of "Lawlz, RNG".

Yeah, the RNG hits me the same way when I search for Dwemer motifs. Since it was implemented, I found 4 or 5, and I always search every single container. There're even people who NEVER found any of them. RNG sucks in this game. I also don't bother doing writs anymore, you put more in than what you get out from it.

I play for fun.

I also play to RP. So the characters that do writs are the characters who like to craft and who would sell stuff (and many of them do sell stuff in guild stores). If someone doesn't get great rewards for a writ; well they had a crappy trading day. Makes it fun.

...if you think rewards from crafting writs are bad, just wait until you get to doing the end game content. Vendor trash, vendor trash everywhere

You're better off using 5 pieces of Hunding's Rage than 5 pieces Vicious Ophidian (and Vicious Ophidian is the best gear set to drop from end game PvE, the light & heavy armour sets are incredibly bad).

TLDR: rewards in this game are a joke

I couldn't agree more. Today I joined some folks unfamiliar with vCoA on a helm run, we spent about 2.5 hours trying to complete this. The ENTIRE time I got nothing over a blue quality piece, no set pieces or anything of value. Stuff like this makes me want to quit, but ive invested too much time into my toon I really bounce between the thought.

Same agreement with Cadwells gold and silver, its extremely tedious to finish a faction...and what do you get? A stupid necklace and a traitors title. No boost of power, extra ability, just bread crumbs. Who ever had that brilliant idea?!

Im saving up my gold keys for the imperial city, at 20 so far and I bet you none of them will yield any set piece besides the undaunted trash sets. I remember hunting a shoulder piece, took up weeks of wasted time only to have to spend just as much time to find a tank or a healer as it takes to complete the dungeon itself anymore if im lucky.

I get that good items should be rare but this is absolutely ridiculous.
