After testing a while it seems that structured Entropie buff "major sorcery" dont increase the damage from Blazing Shield.
BS does Magicdamage so it should increase with "Major sorcery".
Can anybody plz confirm?
And if i am right, can we get a statement for Devs?
Thanks

BS scales off of the damage you receive and your health pool, not spell power. So Entropy shouldn't increase the damage. Magic damage is just a damage type.

I'll bet Thaumaturge increases the damage though.

edit: Another example would be Killers Blade from NB. It scales off of (and uses) Stamina and Weapon Power, but the damage type is magic. Spell power is not in the equation so Entropy would not work there either.

working as intended atm, blazing shield's shield is determined from your max health, and any damage is whatever percentage the tool tip says and not more - unless it crits, not sure if it does, over the maximum though; so the major sorc buff shouldn't be able to "buff" the shield strength, and in turn the damage output. for a magicka temp this is a point of contention that it is derived from max health instead of magicka but that is the templar's lot in life ;)

I can see being worried about missing 20% damage.

SE gives 5% more total health.

Given all of that, if you swap to a skill bar with both BS and SE in it and activate BS, you should get 1.5% more shield than if SE was not on the bar at the time. Whether SE has to be on the other skill bar for the damage to be 1.5% greater is for some other person to answer and likely working as intended. If you have a shield + health on it with the same bar as BS and SE, it starts to get interesting.

What's more, I am not worried about some measly 1.5 to 3% - just wasting time and probably yours too

Major Sorcery dont increads the spellpower, it increases the damage done bye magica spells, at least the Tooltip says so...
The damage an oponent receaves from BS is magic dam.

dont mean the shield strength only the dam the shield does, as it seems to be magic dam.

But maybe it is working as intended and only a bit confusing.

The 20% increase on next attack does not apply to AoEs and Zos said they are looking to fix that. As for timing it right for when BS explodes, not sure if that will be fixed on purpose.

No. Major Sorcery increases spell damage by 20%.

    From patch notes:

    Spell Damage buffs
Minor Sorcery: Increases spell damage by 5%
Major Sorcery: Increases spell damage by 20%

Unless you are referring to "Might of the Guild" passive in Mages Guild tree. I never tested that one with BS. Would seem really hard to time right, but the BS explosion seems like an "attack" to me so it should work but would not be surprised if it didn't.

Yah, 1.5% more shield, which would translate to roughly .75% more damage after the "50% of damage received" is factored in.

But that's how it goes with BS. You could increase your health by 10,000, forgoing all other offensive capabilities and only get an extra 1500 damage from it.
