Are the vet ranks really being removed? What about the costumes?

If these ranks really are being removed like everyone keeps saying will we still be able to get the costumes from hitting V6 and V10?
I am getting close to V5 right now but if this change happens soon I wont be able to get the V10 one

I don't think vet ranks should be removed unless they come up with a different but equivalent system since the game is already easy enough to lvl up. I mean vet ranks take forever but once I hit v14 then what?

I don't think the removal of VR levels are going to happen anytime soon if at all. Your going to be ok. Rational being they are releasing console very shortly. Doesn't make sense to immediately commit a major coding overhaul right after they just released the game for console. If that was the case they would have included the overhaul prior to console. Also they have yet to figure out how to balance equipment levels with the removal of vet levels. They have been pretty silent on their progress on this. Honestly, I don't have an issue with vet lvls other than the xp amount is too high to lvl. Otherwise why waste man power, resources, and money when it could be better spent on making new content instead of reinventing the system.

I would like them to convert VET Ranks to regular levels, up to 77.

If (and sadly I think it's still more if than when) they remove Veteran Ranks, it would make sense to award those costumes for reaching a certain number of Champion Points instead.

They should be. At least according to official promises. Now, how much you believe ZOS' promises, is up to you.

The problem they are facing and the reason why it will not happen any time soon is what they are left with when they do it. Right now there are two major parts of ESO that are not liked my "most" players. Vet levels and silver/gold quest line. It's OK doing them once or twice, but alt-ing in ESO is severely handicapped as a result of one huge part of leveling being so grindy.

If they remove Vet levels only, they essentially just removed level numbers and not much will have changed. If they remove silver/gold, they've removed 2 thirds of the game's leveling process, making the game much shorter.

They did say at one point the ranks were on the way out eventually. I would rather have more levels that pass a bit quicker even if it's exactly the same amount of exp required to get there. It's a carrot and stick kind of thing I guess.

They will add new zones for each faction (6th map), veteran levels will be removed and lvl cap will increase from 50 to 60.

And of course those new zones will be the "paid" zones. You'll need plus membership or you'll need to buy them from store to play.

How do I know ? Just guessing... I clearly don't have any moles inside.

I dont understand why people want to remove veteran ranks..what do you think will happen if they remove them? They will just give you vr14 gear once you hit 50? Instead they will need to gate that gear with other methods and i am afraid this will mean daily ***...

So instead of a system that let you advance at your own pace, they will make a system that will control you advancement..

I like cadwell's silver and gold. I like veteran ranks. I think maybe they could be done a bit better, but unless ZOS can really pull a rabbit out of a hat I'd rather keep them as they are. If they can come up with a more fun system though, I'll be all for it.

I am a casual but steady player.
It has taken me a full year to get my main to vr14, an alt to vr5, one to vr1.
Not saying that is wrong or right but those are the numbers.

I would most certainly like to play my alts in Cyrodiil but see no reason being cannon fodder / server filler on my non-14s.

An easy fix would be repositioning those to non-level achievements. Like, say... get the "Golden Saint" costume at completion of the main quest instead of V2, get the "Dark Seducer" at completing Cadwells Silver ionstead of V6, and then get "Mannimarco" at completing Cadwells gold...

(though personally I always thought you ought to get the mannimarco costume after the main quest, the seducer in/after silver and the saint in/after gold...)

As for it happening soon... well, this is the Zenimax "Soon™" we're talking about here. So... chances are, you will be V10 by the time it actually happens...

I would presume the costumes will stay and move to some other achievement OR they'll go altogether like when WoW removed Tier 3 armor which you could only obtain from raiding.
Or maybe like the items in the crown store on sale to be removed after the sale ends

As Matt said on RPC in Cologne -> removal of Veteran Ranks is still on the "To-Do" List- more will be announced with the DLCs.

I hope that, if VR are removed, they make a similar system. VR is actually a nice system. It allows you to make a group with veteran friends that are VR1-13 if you're VR14, and at the same times marks a difference between VR1 and VR14.

You can go with two VR1-5 friends to Craglorn and still defeat the bosses there.

If they put normal 60 level cap, then 70, 80, 90 and 100 in every new zone, then... Well... I'm just going to say WoW.

It's more probable that VR is removed and Champion System takes over....if not then I ask why is there a champion system for post 50

I think it'll be simple. Max level will be brought to 50, all gear/consumables/items that are currently V2 and above will be scaled back down. Crafting skillpoints for Nightwood/Voidcloth/Voisteel and other V2 and above materials will be refunded.

Keep the VR ranks, adjust exp gain so that you can hit VR14 by the time you have finished silver, gold and then maybe lower Craglorn and spend your time on content instead of implementing something new that you will have to fix later.

IV they actually remove vet ranks, they better make the free costumes impossible to get so lazy people don't get them. That and add a unique mount for people that earned v14. Lazy people these days don't know what earning something is. Heck, current v14 is way easier than initial v14

nah, they don't want to earn anything. Easier to cry for it to be fully removed so they can put 20hrs of work in and hit max level.

Don't want to sound entitled, but that would be pretty cool. However, while the VR14 grind is extremely boring, it's also not exactly difficult to obtain...
