None-Vet Campaign - extreme high damage ?

Playing the EU none-vet campaign currently as a sorcerer ( lvl 20ish) and was hit by some players and died fast, so far alright.
The death review showed me that I was hit by one player with Lava Wip: for a little bit more than 16k dmg !!!!
What is going on that someone hits me with just one hit for more than 16,000 damage, with Lava Wip ?
All the other hits from the other players were just in the normal range from 2k-6k......

✭✭When a player hits the first veteran rank while being on the non veteran campaign he will get his normal stats but can stay in Cyrodiil untill he logs off for the next time. That way he can have a build that does a lot of damage, but he will most likely have much lower health than everyone else.0 -
InvictoNZ✭✭✭I am able to finish people for 17k heavy attacks. (some of them even show as non-crits, which might be an addon bug)
It's just damage buffs/debuffs and low health bonuses.

You're likely a vampire and he was using empower, major sorcery and god knows what else to buff his damage.
I nearly instagib many players using my NB. Usually only takes 2-3 hits if they're not using active defenses.
