Will the wave of players make it a disastrous launch

Do you feel confident?

What about you zos, are you prepared? It seems to be a miracle nowadays when big online games have a successful launch.

The beta held up well but it was not very populated not compared how populated the launch is going to be.

Personally I wish you all the best but im not holding my breath for a smooth first week at most maybe (ffxiv ps3 lauch comes to mind)

Defiance on the 360 had a horrible launch, too many people. They also had an open beta which showed the laaaaaag. ESO did not have a great "console" stress test or open beat on their servers so I would imagine it is going to be a lag/patch fest in the beginning.

So pretty much every modern MMO release ever then.

They have continually failed to fix the bugs within the PC game since launch, so they do not inspire confidence.

You would hope some of the issues with the game will be better on the Consoles as they have only one system to work with, I'm waiting to see if PVP works well on the Consoles under load or not.

But truly I wouldn't hold my breath for a smooth launch.

I know people who do want to play on console but they are holding off getting it at launch because of both the PS4 and the game itselfs reputation for big bugs.

A friend of mine played FFXIV on PS3 and had lot of lag problems while pc users didn't. However, he got the PS4 version now and he says it runs great now.. So I guess PS4 have been improved as far as latency concerned.

    My attitude for any release:
Expect the worse, It can only be better then.

There are so many uncertain factors here that nobody can say it will go ok. If we could, then ZoS could too (and other company's) and we wouldnt even have this discussion.

There are three factors that need to fall into place:
1: Services on other platforms go through other suppliers. Is Sony ready?? Is Microsoft ready?
2: services exclusive to consoles can never be tested with the amount of pressure they will recieve at launch.
3: Where all the load balancing calculations done right?

Number 1 and 2 are impossible to get a grip on. Only 3 is something that ZoS has experience with.
1 is totally in the hands of a third party.
2: is nearly impossible to test or prevent, but will likely only affect subsystem (for example, the voice service).

Through me you pass into eternal pain:

ZOS has abandoned the pc base for the past 6 months at least i would say they would only do that if they had a good reason.
Making sure the console launch is as polished and clean as they can make it personally after seeing the beta i have no doubts that zos can do a clean launch.

I think they will surprise everyone and make one hell of a comeback.

Think about it i am sure they have tonnes of dlc almost ready to go following the months of the console launch to keep the hype going on the console side.

I wish them all the best and plan to smash eso again on the ps4.

wave of players? Your thinking oits going to be something people actually buy and play on their consoles. this is going to be more like a pond ripple than a wave. This game suck so badly that the people that buy it for their consoles will quickly sell it back to gamestop.

    Your opinion bud

I am a console player and so are my mates we are looking foward to this game and i have been playing since beta so i can help them. :)

Plus you really should not want to downplay the console crowd because it looks like zos is placing all its eggs there. In the hopes it will boost their income and keep eso afloat so you should be supporting the console release if you have any love for this game. :)

More players = more money = more staff = more content = longer living mmo

I would probably feel a lot more confident if ZOS themselves had been confident in it enough to have an open beta. The fact that ZOS seems to be so nervous as to have only had a small closed beta is not exactly a very encouraging sign. But still, I figure it was worth a $20 gamble anyway. Even if it's a disaster, I'm only out a little money and I can always come back to the PC.

It looks like you're asking ZOS rather than anyone else....

If I can comment tho, my BETA experience on Xbox One was 100% better than any of the closed and open beta on PC for this game. That alone leans towards a very successful launch.

I'm not sure that the game will have a lot of issues after day 4-5 but considering it's a 65+ Gig download or 50gig install +15+gig update many won't be online at midnight as the game still isn't in the Xbox one store.

If it hits the store by June 1 then I think we will see a much smoother launch
No clue about PS4 as I see more and more comments and realize that hardware other than having good graphics seems to have a lot of odd oversights that cause gameplay experiences to differ from Xbox in a negative way. (Like not being able to mute/u mute your voice using a mic while listening by using the controller or not being able to start, edit and manage party chat without minimizing the game)

I personally expect to sale my PC and get a regular PC and stop gaming on PC depending on Xbox's E3 but I'm definitely never coming back to PC on this after June 9th

    Depends.

If this gets marketed well as a Skyrim online and not push the mmo title. And it doesn't get reviews in the 60s or 70s on Metacritic but more like 80ish. Then this game is off to the stars in terms of potential.

I think they are going to get boinked in reviews for all the common mmo tropes missing here. But if the game can ascend that and get in the 80s on reviews. All is good.

it takes them months to fix bugs they fixed once before but reintroduced.

because of console CERT process its gonna fail. ZoS moves to slowly to react in time or fix bugs.

Unless all the console players are RPers and their RP events are at stake, then they'll fix it all by the next morning.
Yea might bring in a ton of money but it wont last.
