I do enjoy the occasional rage tell, but seriously that guy is just out of control. Maybe ZOS can refund his money so he can take some anger management classes, that [snip] can't be healthy..

They do ban players for being [snip]. I've seen it happen. Thing is, most PvP'ers wont report trash talk, even if extremely offensive including sexual orientation and someone's mother. It's like running straight to the teacher crying cuz someone's being mean to you. Who wants to be that kid?

Many wants to be raged at, they dont get offended, they get amused. Take screen shots and laugh like mad, feeding egos. Don't think I know a single hardcore PvP'er that actually reports hate/rage whispers. If we weren't such good sports about emotional outbursts from our enemies, you see way more bans for sure.

I know one hardcore pvper from a major guild that was banned for what he was using /tells to say to others. Once I heard the content of what he'd been saying, I ended up agreeing with the ban completely. Even his (now former) guildmates have stated to me that the guy had it coming for that.

ZOS does action accounts based off private messages and tells. The things that are most likely to get someone in trouble are racial and sexual slurs and (what has, apparently, a zero tolerance policy) requesting/wishing harm upon another person. Any sort of threat or request that another person harm themself or be harmed by others has only ever resulted in a permaban from the game to my knowledge.

That's a policy I'm in complete agreement with and have no qualms reporting any such person straight to the GMs.

I've been involved in skirmishes where fellow faction members started to comment in zone/say/yell utilizing colorful language, slurs, and vomiting just general word ignorance relating to his current opponent. I broke combat and left him to fend for himself (and probably die).

Regardless how heated a battle might get, how frustrated I or someone else might get with another player, I would sit down and share a beer with just about everyone I've met in this game. Some people would do well to learn the difference between an enemy and an opponent. The vitriol that some users spout does little more than lend to a well deserved impression of knuckle dragging ignorance.

I'm just talking about the "Former Emperor" in general title...if you were a real Emperor in one of the original campaigns that is actually something of note. Someone putting "Former Emperor" in their signature may as well just say "Logged into Cyrodiil". People wearing the former emperor title in game in my experience have never been good players. I won't name a list of players that have given me this impression but I have yet to fight a player sporting the title that I can recall who afterword I thought was a formidable player. I typically target the people I see with that in the hopes of actually finding someone worthy of it.

Hell I just destroyed a "Former Emp" last night like he was a trash mob on my Nightblade on BWB when out of all of the campaigns you'd think that one would actually mean something.

Who knows, maybe there are good players out there who like the title, just not in my experience as of yet.

There's a lot of players roaming around not really deserving of the title. They're just... not good.

I stopped wearing it in game a long, long time ago. I just go with my PVP title as that actually shows some level of dedication and time spent (but not much, just more than Former Emperor). I only show it in my signature on the forums due to being able to clarify that it's from an original server. I find being an EP and a former Bloodthorn emperor is an achievement of note (there were 7 of us total -- Cynnal, Magnarz, Walks to Ryleh, Varus Nightblade, Tatsu, Mighterknot, and myself) as we had to deal with the blue mob AND Naw Sunrest at his height.

If I could show 'of Bloodthorn' in game, I might wear the title again.
