Research Items and Console Transfer

Is it confirmed that any items being currently researched will not transfer on the console copy?

What! I have nirnhoned x3 going on multiple crafts as others do I suspect.... Better not be true!

I was wondering the same yesterday. I have a feeling the current things researching won't copy over to console. I hope I am wrong. I think I will hold of on any 30 day research.

There should have been a notice 30 days ago so we could plan if this was true!

I believe in-progress research will carry over. The character copy will work exactly like the PTS character copy. Although the time to completion may change a few days because of the passive crafting skills active (all skill points would likely be reset is my guess).

There was a ZOS comment in a thread back in April which suggested any research that was not complete would not copy over as pending.

Crafting research in progress at the time of the transfer will be reset on the console copy of the account.

It'll be interesting to get confirmation as a lot of the comments are seemingly based on what they expect for PC but not fact finding their console perspectives.

It seems the account copy information is all subject to change even this close....

Let's hope for good news either way

Damn... say it isn't true....

I have 5 nirn's researching that won't be completed

At ~ 20k cost each I am out 100,000 gold.

If it is so we need clarification,

Will the timer just reset and the trait WILL start to research on the console?
Or are we crafters FUBR and we lost not only our time but hard earned gold as well?

Hoping for last minute Governor reprieve here

Everything is on hold here for me....the other curiosity is how long do you have to copy your account once the email goes out?

I meant not covered in post-it notes as opposed to actually dirty <.<. Desk items in the spoiler tag if you're interested. Also still looking into the issue of the OP, we just want to be 100% sure on the answer before letting you guys know.

Monitors, keyboard, mouse, mouse pad, little mouse wrist thing, post-it notes, a little zombie figure thingy a friend gave me, a notepad, a pen, a glasses cleaning cloth, pins for The Evil Within/Wolfenstein/ESO, an ESO mug, a Vault-Boy bobblehead, water bottle, coffee travel mug thingy. That's it.

Feeling slightly guilty at maybe derailing the OP........

I have to suggest as 'maybe' currently researching items might not copy, that stocking up on items with the nirnhoned trait could be a very shrewd move. both for your own personal research and for trading........

Although there will be a fair amount of high level players, there will be surely many more new players looking to buy.

Oh actually the new players won't be able to afford nirnhoned gear.....

Maybe just stock up on ALL crafting mats before the copy.

After conferring with more people, we can confirm that the information in the KB is correct and research will not transfer. Things are ever-changing though, so if this also changes we'll be sure to update the KB and this thread. Thanks for your patience!

Reset is workable.

Worst case, you can submit a support ticket and probably have the item restored. I've accidentally researched the wrong item before and was able to get it back almost immediately via a support ticket.

Ok progress potentially won't transfer.. BUT which is true

Trait research time returns to zero and needs to restart - we are out the time that was in progress
Trait pieces in progress are lost - We are out the time and lose the trait piece as well

If the second option is it, I am out 100,000 gold and I ask now for a reimbursement of the lost trait items (Nirnhoned x5).

Had you released information on how the console transition would transpire and we had time to react to it, we all that are planning on copying to console would not be so irritated to put it mildly.

I really hope "reset" means that the timer will reset, which I can deal with. If it's the latter, then I'm out $40K (only just started to search for nirnhoned and found a couple of pieces I could afford - had spent most of my saving on recipes, which, thankfully will carry over). Not a huge loss, but still...

And yes, it looks like this was posted in the help section, but honestly, I looked up everything I could find on the console transfer to help inform my decision, and made the purchase prior to the 4/10 posting regarding research. I had read in a thread on the topic that research would transfer over, like it does when characters are copied to the PTS. Since my purchase, however, I hadn't really bothered to look and see if there was any new information on the transfer. My fault for not hunting around for more information, but I find the whole answers section rather poorly implemented and there really should be ONE official place where all of this stuff is outlined, not in various posts that you have to hunt for and sort through.
