PvP, Swimming

Ok, so swimming in PvP in this game is completely broken. I am a dragon night and someone attacked me in Cheydinhal but I beat them to low health, then they jumped in the river and swam under one of the bridges. I knew exactly where they were but could do NOTHING because I couldn't have line of sight unless I was in the water and I can't do anything in the water anyway! When they did try to swim away I thought 'Great I can use my chains on them' NOPE! Apparently when people are swimming if I use my chains on them they gain CC immunity and nothing happens? This aspect of the game just seems completely ridiculous and I hope something is done to 'fix' it.

Anyone else have opinions on this?

That was a new one, never saw that. Anyway, you can retaliate by stunning the, in the water with a ranged stun as soon as they try and get out, you can't cc break in water so they'll just sit there nicely and wait the full duration :)

I have a DK and I have decided to level up bow skills to have some viable ranged attacks. If you had a bow you could have stood on the shore and sniped him.

Do aoe abilities work on ppl in the water?
My wife complains that I never listen to her. (Or something like that.)

    My ESO addons:
Midnight - Find out when midnight is so that you can check for ww/vamp spawn.
Goto - Adds a tab to the map pane allowing you to teleport to a friend, guildmate, or groupmate for free.

But that's part of the point, if you're not a long range bow user you can do nothing and they become invincible as soon as they enter the water. Also you say stun them, but that is not going to kill them just slow them down in the water, when half the time they are not moving anyway just sitting there completely still, unkillable. It's not that they can get away it's that they don;t need to, they can just sit in the middle of a lake of river and people like my DK character can do nothing.

In addition in Cheydinhal if a character swims under either of the bridges they become COMPLETELY unkillable, because you cannot target them or see them unless you are in the water too and the you can do nothing anyway.

They were talking about implementing an underwater system for ESO and I so hope they do, because:

    1. It would be amazing
    2. Exploration factor would be awesome
    3. It would fix *** like this.

In my opinion, if you are a guy with a sword and the person your attacking jumps into the water then you really can't go after them with your sword. However if your a guy with a bow, then shoot away. Of course that doesn't account for the more magical abilities but they should really fall into one of those categories as well. I'd say chains should work in that situation. Too bad they don't.

I don't think they were seriously contemplating underwater combat were they? Just using it as an example of what it takes to implement new functionality and why they won't do it.

That said, DAoC (which launched in 2001) had underwater combat. Along with massive RvR.
    Just saying.

So does GW2, and with a whole range of combat abilities specific to fighting under water. I'm sure it'd take some doing to add this to ESO, development-wise, so it probably won't be coming soon. :/

They seem to be immune to every kind of CC while swimming, not just DK. It's pretty ass backwards.

If you're gliding across the local stream or lake, you should be more vulnerable, not less.

Even if it wasn't full CC, it should at least be a partial snare/stun...
Just because you don't like the way something is doesn't necessarily make it wrong...

    Earn it.

IRL'ing for a while for assorted reasons, in forum, and in game.
I am neither warm, nor fuzzy...
Probably has checkbox on Customer Service profile that say High Aggro, 99% immunity to BS

Yeah I agree, they should at least do Something to try and 'lessen' or 'fix' some of these issues.
