Shame About Group Finder

A shame group finder got changed the way it is, ive been searching for a group since 5pm yesterday. I have had no luck in getting a group. From what I understand its mainly cause people areant using Group finder anymore / leading to people thinking that its Broken. A shame it aint being used back a couple of months ago group finder was being used all the time.

The grouping tool was a low priority from the beginning. The poor design at launch and how useless it was drove many to never use it again even if it was fixed. They tried fixing it before but my guess is that worked as well as the recent fix to the group leader bug.

Always best to run with guildies.

Since every other MMO I ever played had an easy to use group finder, they can't be that hard to set up. This company has never effectively fixed it despite a year's worth of complaints by many, so I have to write it off as hopeless.

If you want a group, use zone chat.

If you already have a group of 3/4 people and need one person and really cannot find them in zone chat, the group finder actually works well in this situation.

It worked fine from April - June and then ppl began trying to work around the systems in place
-Grouping Guilds
-Zone chat LfG
-Rumors about it not working at all

I'm leaving PC....good luck and wish me luck on console

Considering ESO is an MMORPG, you would think having a way to find a group reliably and easily, would goal number 1 for the Dev's.

It's not just rumors if you can't get it to work after days of using it.

It was broken at launch and for the few months after launch that I played, and it hasn't worked reliably (ie it is broken) for the times I have used it in the last few months since I started playing again. The thing that is "rumour" is that it is not functioning properly because people don't use it.

I always try group finder while I also write i zone chat - just to give the group finder a chance. But I always end up finding a group in zone chat

Every time i used the group finder one of the members instantly changed from tank/healer to damage dealer and we had to disgroup or i got matched with three total newbies, that tried to tank with destruction staff or to heal the group with dual wield.

I only look in zone and guild chat now.

The best grouping tool in ESO is chat, unfortunatelly.
I only hope ZoS will add a separate chat channel just for LFG - that should be easy.

I have recently started using the group tool to level one of my alts having before that ignoring it based on reading posts on this board or in guild chat to find that, yes you might have to wait a little, but once you set it up, just carry on questing and it pops.

The funny thing about the bold part: Duel wielding is easily the best choice of weapons for all PVE healing except trial encounters.

You can't specify acceptable Vr range for scaling (lf v1gold key run)
you can't specify multiple dungeons (lf both pledges),
you can't specify preferred role (you can say tank or / and dps, but not prefer dps but can tank in a pinch) and you can't specify experience (CoA, only people who have done it before).

You also can't advertise for multiple characters (v7 healer or v14 tank lf pledges)

Nevermind stuff like helm runs.

The grouping tool is broken because it doesn't allow you to convey the details you need to get the group you want.

But I'll amuse you, I quoted the person I was responding to and specifically bolded the part I was referring to. You see they stated that one of the "shames about the group finder" was noobs. My response was basically stating that maybe the people the got grouped with weren't as "noob" as believed. Hence maybe it wasn't actually a group finder "shame."

Hope that clears things up for you.
