Does this mean PC will get console quality group finder?

Greetings!

I've been following Deltia's Gaming, and his review/gameplay of console beta. One thing is clear. Console has some serious upgrades when it comes to option navigations and especially GROUP FINDER!

Deltia's Gaming: Console Beta for ESO Day 2 Impressions (PS4 Gameplay)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xwdTUzOrbaI

Does this mean that PC will start getting reworked basic features so they stand up to the high quality, smooth, functionalities on console? I would sure hope so.

What do the rest of you think?

It would not surprise me that parts of the client for console is a little ahead of the PC/Mac and that these things will get added to PC/Mac in a future update.

EDIT: However, my gut instinct is that the console LFG is just a different UI over the same LFG that PC/Mac currently has.

I've been begging for Zenimax to fix the PC version's group finder for months but they just don't care. They are done working on the PC version of the game.

Hopefully this whole thing will put emphasize on the difference in quality. Deltia's is a known ESO player, and I hope Zenimax will take notice and work on this after console release. But again, console release has first priority at the moment, and it does seem like they are using that time very well. Also, the better console version gets, the higher chance of PC getting some nice rework afterwards if possible.

Because of the group finder alone I am willing to switch to the inferior console version. The thing I enjoy most about ESO is the group dungeons, and the thing I enjoy least is the time spend forming group dungeon parties.

I just hope we can get official confirmation that Zenimax will offer paid console to PC transfer services because I will absolutely switch back to PC once the group finder is fixed and the controller support is added.
End the tedious inventory management game.

How can you assume that it works better on consoles? I do find groups with it on pc... sometimes. So dont you think there is a sad possibility that when there will be more variety of player lvls it will also "work" the same as on pc?

Without Text Chat, Console players will need to use the Group Finder.

That alone will make it better than on the PC. It's not that the Group Finder does not work, it's that no one uses it as there are better alternatives on the PC with Zone Chat and Guild Chat to find groups with.

PC was a pay to beta test for console release, we just need to accept that and move on. Going forward PC will most likely be left by the wayside if history is any indicator of the current development focus for TESO

Well, had the Group Finder not been utterly worthless for half a year after launch, the community most likely would not have completely shunned it for other avenues of finding groups, such as Zone and Guild chat.

Now that we are accustomed to using these alternatives, the Group Finder remains worthless. Not because of the bugs now, but because of the lack of players using it.

But that's not really our fault, now is it?

I've played other MMO's on PC, that had good group finders, and text chat of course, and people used them plenty. I would much rather enter a queue for a group, know that I will placed in at least a competent group, then sit there and spam my guild or zone chat LFG LFG LFM LFM blah blah.

Like most things, ZoS is quiet on the matter, so who knows. I am not holding my breath.

Prove that people choose not to use the grouping tools because they prefer not to?
Or prove that people are only not using it because they think bugged = they won't get a group?

Prove that it's not bugged and that it's only community xenophobia that is making it unreliable.

Since this is exactly what you keep saying in thread after thread, despite scores of comments stating otherwise.

If you're going to continue stating something as fact, then I think you should at least be able to prove it. Otherwise, stop saying it so matter-of-factly.

Or go off the patch notes from ZOS the specifically clarify that the grouping tools had fixes and today they fixed the group leader bug. It's been working for me since April 2014. It takes longer as more and more people decide not to use it but the tool works. The trick is getting others to use it vs standing in cities spamming or in zones spamming LFG.

I got some proof it is bugged.

We ran a test with 4 people. We all know the tool very well. We all indicated our preferential role and locations (dungeon x).

If the tool was working, it should have been able to group us even if there is only 4 of us.

I know it's a really simple test but try it yourself, the tool won't find the others.

And FYI don'l let the soul shriven status fool you. I've been playing this game for more than 1 year now. I hate the evenings where I waited for more than 1 hour to find a group - if succesful at all - so I've tried the group tool on many nights but without any success. 1 time (yes 1), it grouped me with someone else on an evening bith I and the other player even forgot we got the tool running lol

Make the tool functional (e.g. Enabling to look for certain lvl of players as well) and this game would be truly superior imho

Based on your comment...that's not how it works so I understand your frustration.

    Example:
-open up the tool, stop it from searching, clear all the pre-selected options and then make the selections, and then start the grouping tools search
-IF and when 4 people who "all" are within 4 levels of each other, in the queue "may" be grouped. There are other variables and it doesn't group based on whose been in the longest.

Also if your only DPS assume a min of 45-1 hour as the later changes will attempt to only group when all 4 match vs grouping 2 or 3 in a queue immediately.

This change was due to a forum outcry....they changed it and now ppl complain that it takes too long so they sit in zones using zone chat and refuse to queue or make comments as you did above without using the grouping tools primarily and questing while waiting.

Yeah you're probably right. I'm a healer / dps in vet rank, and when I use the tool for the daily and go questing and don't get a group for hours it's probably cause there is no one else using the tool......

How can you defend a system that is NOT working properly ?
    I really don't get it.
People tested the tool, proved it was not working, and you are still saying it is working as intended...

I'm also tired of the zone chat spam. But this is the only reliable way to find a group actually.

Hijacking this thread to snipe at each other is just wrong. The question is whether the console version of group finder will be ported to the PC. I hope it does, as the console version appears much improved. I don't for a minute believe ZO$ will abandon PC after console release, if only because it would eliminate a revenue stream, even if it's a small stream. Maybe the console will be the beta for improvements on the PC, like adding controller and voice support.

As for the current group tool, without taking sides, I have used it with some success. But it often forms groups with only 3, and before a fourth can be added, the group disbands as often as not. I would say regardless of it's current state, updating the PC with the console version would be smart. The new version might draw enough attention to give it some momentum.

Point taken, and fair enough. Just irritates me when people come into these threads and smugly tell everyone that they're simply delusional w/out a shred of actual evidence other than "I used it a few times and it worked for me".

There are plenty of improvements made to the base UI in the console version that I'd like to see implemented on the PC, though the most important features (to me) are already slated to come out, such as native controller support and integrated voice chat.
