Can we have fall damage for enemies please?

I would really love to see this get implemented  I have an incredible amount of fun throwing my enemies out from tall places.. But they never die, they just run around far below me until I move out of the area they patrol..

Only if we don't get XP from those kills and no loot. It's too exploitable otherwise.

unfortunately that wont happen, this was asked in ESO Live awhile back and they said this was a mechanic they had implemented so that people wouldnt exploit it by luring NPCs to a cliff and knocking them off and killing them extremly easy.

I don't think it's that exploitable. It's a bit difficult to knock off baddies off cliffs. It's too slow and solo for grinding and doesn't affect pvp really. There's very few boss npcs that you can knock down at all. Those few that you can knock off a cliff despawn if they leave their area anyway, so knocking them off doesn't affect them.

Besides, it's kind of fun. And we should reward fun, assuming that doesn't cause problems.

First time I got destructive clench with a fire staff, I abused it the entirety of a whole zone. It was back when there wasn't a cooldown on the effect on baddies, so as soon as they got up, they were back down. It was great when there was just one guy, not great for a group. I tried making a game out of it once.

Well if they've said so, they probably have thought it over  But one a always hope for a change of mind hehe

    Yes, Yes, YES!

And environmental damage too! I soooo hate it when in the few times I do manage to knockback some trash mob off a ledge or into a magma pool, they just take no damage at all and run back at me (or despawn and respawn in their original location) right away...

...with the new "cc immunity for mobs after first knockback" its almost impossible to exploit anyways, and if someone should manage it, it ought to bloody well reward them with the joy of seeing their enemies go "splat" when they come to a sudden stop after a long drop...

No fall damage on npcs would be lore breaking! And make too much sense.
Funny other games have it, wonder how havent died yet .... Soon as they get flying. Itll be over then im sure

well tbh, fall dmg CAN be exploited to avoid fights.. Especially in Cold Harbour it seems .. On the other hand though, maybe it could be solved by the player not getting xp/loot from enemies that die to fall dmg

Then again, that mechanic would annoy players who didn't mean to knock the enemy over the edge

lol. I was just picking on ya, mate. I too hope they change their mind. I have thought about this and I pretty much think the following:

An enemy who falls far enough to experience fall damage should take the same amount of damage from the fall that was dealt to them from the previous blow. This way, the fall damage is based on the skills and abilities of the player attacking them and the damage dealt would be similar to what would have been dealt to them anyway if they had not fallen. This would mean that enemies would sometimes die from the damage, and sometimes they would survive. If they die, they should be fully lootable.

I would like to think it has more to do with protecting the player than punishing them by not allowing fall damage on NPC's. If a key NPC had an item on his corpse that you need for quest progression but he's at the bottom of a ravine, you may have to fall to your death just to collect it, then you may not have an easy way back up to progress.

I honestly don't think it's gamebreaking to allow fall damage to kill trash mobs. They die fast enough anyway.

You have good points there  BUT if he is at the bottom of the ravine already, you're screwed anyway hehe

Easy fix... negate fall damage on key enemies.

that just sounds lazy as hell on their part and not like a few overworld cliffs would make that much of a difference on enemies as long as were not throwing major zone bosses off cliffs and world bosses they should add the fall dmg. also environmental damage. tired of bandits and the like standing in lava like its a gentle puddle.

That's true. F.e. someone like me who loves pushing them over the edge whereever it's possible with Destructive Reach. It's funny in parts of Coldharbour - pressing the button, and gone is the Dremora^^
