So, this is a suggestion thread for a feature I would love to see in ESO. I think a feature like this would go really well with a housing update.

So, needless to say, there are a lot of towns scattered around Tamriel, but usually the day to day jobs of the town that allow for it to maintain itself and function (in theory) are done by the NPCs. These jobs include being a blacksmith and making tools, delivering things across the town, cleaning buildings, etc. etc. (Basically chores). I say enough with the rule of the NPCs over the mundane day to day tasks, it is time for the players to ship in and help out around their favorite towns. So, with my suggestion, I think ZOS should open up the ability for players to get hired for "Jobs" where they do small tasks around different villages, and they earn a small fee for their work, and these can be repeated so they have a way to make money other than through adventuring or thieving, gotta make an honest living.

This could go really well with a house update because it would add an immersive sense, working in the town that you live in.

Just a small suggestion, hope it catches the eye of a ZOS person.

Not to be a Debbie downer on your idea, but I despise doing chores IRL. I can't fathom logging on to a video game to do them. Playing games is what I do for fun, before bed, after the chores are done.

Edit to add: I dont care if this is added, just please don't make it part of real play.

Not saying it should be something that is required to do anything, just small tasks that award say 100g per completion, maybe even less.

I agree with Debbie Downer, I do not play video games just to do more work.

Had enough of that playing Lord of the Rings Online... No thank you, that's just lazy game design when developers run out of ideas and the game is coming to the end of it's life.
    Sometimes, I dream about...cheese...

Hate to break it to you...but there's a GRASS SIMULATOR now. You get to simulate grass. Growing.

Mechanic simulator. Truck driving simulator. If there's an occupation, there's likely a simulator for it....and apparently people are eating it up. Why? Gods only know, because I'm in the same boat with you. I work and then come home. I play games to relax and NOT think about work. We must be the oddballs.
I am not spending a single penny on the game until changes are made to the game that I want to see.
    1) Remove having to be in a guild to sell items to other players at a kiosk.
    2) Cosmetic modding for armor and clothing.
    3) Difficulty slider.
    4) Fully customizable player housing that isn't tied to anything in the game other than having the correct resources and enough gold to build. Don't tie it to PvP, guild membership, or anything at all. Oh, make it instanced so as not to take up world map space, too. Zeni screwed this one up already.
Any /one/ of these things implemented would get me spending again, maybe even subbing.

I think if it's done creatively it could add some time sinks to ESO. I'm on your side @SG_Celerrimus. I would love to have minigames such as tilling a garden or shoeing a horse, but I'm not sure if an Elder Scrolls MMO is the right MMO for that sort of thing. It could very easily be very cheezy.
What ESO really needs is an Auction Horse.
    That's right... Horse.

I'd always liked the idea of players being able to be bartenders, innkeepers, and the like. Would be a cool way to make extra coin, and just play the game without constant fighting.

I know, I know ... the constant fighting is what most folks want.

Agreed! Oh, we have crafting writs but... it would be neat to have more immersive "jobs". Be it serving chicken and ale in a bar (there is a quest along those lines in reapers march... sort of in reapers march...), providing entertainment (bardic guild skill line would be nifty! But doing the right dancing emotes would also be a possibility...), I'd also take jobs delivering mail (find -x- NPCs in vaugely defined areas somewhere on your home faction maps while having a chance of random encounters with bandits that might spawn just for you) or prospecting (mine -x- ore each in -y locations, might get randomly attacked by a "claim jumper" while mining), or hunting (kill -x- animals of -z- species, bring -drops- to huntmaster, random chance of encountering predators defending their territory or poachers... might also work with fishing...), exploring (visit -x- map locations on several different maps, write journel when there, random chance of some sort of encounter while doing so) or bounty hunting (kill either -x- mob type, like the fighters guild bounties in cyrodil, or maybe better, kill -random world boss/public dungeon boss-)...

Oh, the possibilities for daily questing...
