Console Players- Control Pets

I have watched videos of the PS4 beta, and seen the controller layout. I didn't see any button(s) to send your pets into battle before you go. I play a sorc. on pc and when I solo PVE, I send my pets in first on bosses and large groups. Is that gonna be possible still on Consoles? I already bought the PS4 transfer and will play anyways, but I was just curious. Thanks.

Can any console beta tester or any one from ZEN answer this, please? Thanks.

ewww Good question, I don't play sorc's but we had one in our group.

It would seem it had controls or it was set to assist.

    Great question IDK

Perhaps the ever vigilant @ZOS_AlanG could assist? :)

I hold out hope that our suggestions such as key rebinding go in. That was sorcerers can replace the useless "cycle next quest" D-Pad button with pet control.
End the tedious inventory management game.

Pets deal damage now? I thought they were just vanity items. I wonder if they will implement horse charges?

EDIT : Statement removed due to prior commitment obligation.

Words contained in posts, at which point I stop reading and will not respond...
Toon / Mana / WoW or any acronym following "In ___" /
Pets (when referring to summoned Daedra) / Any verbiage to express slang (ie, ending in uz,az,..) / Soul Stone
    ... to be continued.

    Now, get off my lawn.

I'm talking about the Sorcerer summoned pet familiar/clannfear and winged twighlight. Not my vanity mudcrab/monkey/dog/etc. pet. I like the horse charge though. ;)

Well, there would just have to be a way to send the Sorc Pets into battle, otherwise they would be useless.*

*Yes, I know some think they are useless anyway. But, played right, Pets can be a lot of fun for a large amount of PvE situations.
Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

"Pet controls" were thought to be too confusing for console players.

    " insert variable".

there is no option neither on PC or console to send your pets into fight without attacking the target on your own.
on PC you have a keymodifier that depending if connected with a left or right click on your target assings that target to be assisted or to back up and get to your side. beside that there are no pet commands.

What does the "Command Pet" (Y) button do then?

No I don't think that option exists on consoles.

Yes there is. Default Y key, press it while targetting an enemy and the summons will attack it without you having to initiate the fight.

The real issue with pets is there are too many that look like enemies and people can have too many out.

Getting real sick of swinging my maul at the wrong targets during Anchors and populated dungeons.

LOL, I gave up trying to control pets before this thread was even posted, did they fix the command since then? Because I remember that the pet often ignored the y command and rarely if ever actually attacked what you were targeting.
As a casual player I was satisfied that at one point I had a char max level and near max crafting with almost all motifs and I pretty much lost interest. Then ESO discovered DLC's and now my main is just a wanabe and I am happily pulled back into the game.

Of course, you can control (select a target an tell them to attack it) pets on the PC. It's funny to see people, who don't know this..

You select a hotkey in the keyboard command settings and, when you are in battle, you need to click the Hotkey + Left mouse button. Clicking the hotkey alone won't suffice, you need to hold it and click left mouse button...
This is poor programming in my eyes, there should be the possibility to JUST PRESS THE PET-ATTACK BUTTON and have it attack (no mouse button needed).

Pets will stick to the target you chose! Pets don't only attack the target you are fighting but you can tell them to fight another target!! (I played a pet sorc myself for over a year.. but I only play sorc when I'm frustrated, as shield +++ is easy mode, pet sorc is much more fun..)

    @Mettaricana
That button does something else tho.
It's pretty much a simple function as is. If you attack, it attacks.
If it attacks you, the pet attacks it.

If you don't want the pet to attack, dismiss the pet
