What Happened to Lady's Smock?

So I was a big time seller of Lady's Smock. I sold it for about 179g a piece, which was undercutting a lot of people in the neighboring guild locations. When Update 6 hit, the price tanked, leaving me with about 500 Lady's Smock that I was upside down on. I noticed the price never recovered, so I'm curious what happened. Did another potion take priority? My guess is it's the panacea of immovability, as it's cheaper to make and offers more in PvP combat.

Nope ZOS changed the buff system so that the spell power pots are no longer necessary since the benefits no longer stack with the buffs from skills.

I dunno if that's concrete. I don't find it too often. Bugloss and columbine might as well be as rare as kuta though.

You don't need to use as many potions because they all now last 45 seconds instead of 15. Also, many players don't use spell power potions anymore because the buffs don't stack with abilities. Unless you are in max DPS, hardcore leaderboard mode, you won't need to use spell pots.

For me it is Blessed Thistle and Wormwood. It seems that no one is harvesting those when they see them, so it's all I have left.

    Exactly!

And in doing so they basically crippled alchemy.... pretty much the only thing anybody is interested in now is bugloss columbine & mountain flowers. Tripots are the only main stream useful potion (Note I'm not including a few niche PvP pots in that statement).

Its a shame.... because there is the potential with the buff system to make alchemy amazing very easily & they have all the mechanics there that they need already in the new code.

All they need to do is re-allign the individual reagents with the new buff system so you can create potions to fulfill most of the new buffs..

EG: something rare like Columbine could give minor berserk, something more common like minor mending, vitality, evasion etc

You could even have something even more in depth (But easy for them to do) by having potions give major or minor buffs. The minor buffs have a shorter cooldown, major buffs give you the buff for say 10 seconds but then have a far longer cooldown.

This would really make for interesting build options generally... as well as spice up the alchemy / crafting sector!

Have you put a point into the Keen Sight passive for alchemy? I did maybe 2 months ago and I have found more Columbine in these last 2 months than I probably did in the prior 10 months combined. Columbine is rare because it is tiny and low to the ground and nobody sees it. Bugloss is rare because it is is large and stands out and everybody sees it from a mile away and it gets harvested immediately.

I still like Spellcrit pots and I have like 400 or more bugloss but colmbine is not even worth buying at the moment as it costs more than you make on a stack of tripots.

Yeah I tell ya I always have run with grass off and thought I was good at not missing things but that helps a LOT with columbine and mountain flower too.

Also I see flower farmer spazoids run by columbine all the time so they are missing it somehow.

And the potion cd is longer.

That's unimportant, though, since you can maintain a 100% uptime if you want by simply using one potion acceleration glyph on your jewelry (as a practical matter, having 4.7 seconds of downtime after 40.3 seconds of up-time out of every 45 seconds really isn't a big issue) to maintain the spell damage and spell critical buffs. The real reason behind the OP's observation is that stamina builds are much more popular than magicka ones now, whereas previously it was the opposite. They're both actually well-balanced now for the most part, but the flavor of the month is focused aim spam and wrecking blow spam, even though neither are actually the way to make the best stamina damage anyway :p.

Considering I can get full stacks of Bugloss and Columbine before I get one kuta I would disagree. In coldharbor alone one regent run can get you 8-11 columbine and 6-7 bugloss its not rare at all.

Doing every quest in AD on Cadwell's Gold with 3 skill points into Keen Eye, I think I found 30 columbine and 50 bugloss. Sadly for me, that was 5 months.

Yeah, I'm a pretty casual player. I play a few hours a week. Can't say I've seen a Namira's Rot in a long time. Granted, if you read my previous comments, I apparently have really bad luck and don't play as often as most.

Namira's Rot is still out there. Collected 4 yesterday cave delving in Cyrodil. Wasn't even really farming, just ran into them.

Bugloss and Columbine are still harvestable if you have a good harvest spot. I collected 9 of each in my 20 minute run I do everyday. That being said, somedays are not that good because people know the good harvest spots and the competition to harvest is tougher.

The prices are outrageous at vendors. I have about twice the columbine (and way more mountain flowers) than bugloss so i went vendor shopping and found bugloss for 425gp each in Reaper's March - *#&$*# ripoff artists - but then found bugloss for 100gp each at another vendor not in Reaper's March, so if you vendor shop you can still find decent prices.

I will double check the whole spell power pots not stacking but I am 95% positive my heal numbers went up when I used a spell power pot on top of entropy. Regardless, using spell power pots while healing (except against final trial bosses and mantikora) has really saved my tripot stash from being rapidly reduced. I try to save the tripots for tanking as renewing my stamina is pretty much useless except against the Warrior, when i need to dodge roll that shield throw or dodge roll off the platform in starfall stage.

Namira's Rot has always been rare. During the whole year i have collected only few hundred. I think the drop rate has not changed. Being rare it suffers from RNG fluctuation. It seems like drop rate change, but really isn't.

Yeah I think it'd be cool if potions could provide the minor version of the buffs so they can be more varied as well. Or perhaps something like "if a Major effect is already active, the potion provides the Minor version of the same effect".

You can blame the Justice System. It is one of only 3 Reagents that make Invisibility Potions, the other being Nirnroot and Blue Entomola. But, Namira's Rot does not have all the negative effects, so it can make for a more benign potion rather than mixing Enomola and Nirnroot.
