Yes, constantly. I have been trying to download the new patch since 5.30pm and it's now 7.48pm in my timezone. It's downloading 1-3% and then the "WebGet request failed" error occurs. I hit "Pause" and "Resume" to restart the download, but I'm only up to 25% of the patch.

    Greetings all!

We have a great troubleshooting guide available for this issue here that has steps for how to ensure that your permissions and firewall are properly set to allow the patch to download and install.

While these steps resolve this issue in most cases, if it does not resolve after trying these troubleshooting steps, you can contact our Customer Support team for more specific one-on-one assistance.

I also am getting this error. Cannot patch the game, cannot play the game.

I have done all the instructions, I was able to repair the game yesterday, so the firewall wasn't an issue yesterday.

Today, its one big slow download and is failing.

Now I have to keep trying to repair, as the play button crashes the game.
And the repair after 100%, is trying to download the files and is getting the above error "WebGet request failed".

Okay after two hours I must have got through to a better patch server. Game patched and all looks well. Instead of 20kb downloads was getting 121kb.

Yep, getting this every 10 seconds or so - never had it before this patch and nothing has changed at my end since patch 2.0.7 came down fine so logic suggests something borked at ZOS end.

Experience suggests that they will realise this eventually far too late to help most people suffering from it and remember that they forgot to correctly distribute the patch or something along those lines - we've seen this stuff from them before....

Just wanted to add to this thread. I keep getting download rates of like 11-16 Kb/s, and after a few moments it drops to zero with a WegGet Request failing and subsequent HTTP Request failing message.

I did all the troubleshooting, ran the launcher as Admin and doublechecked/deactivated my firewall, all to no avail.
I should add that this is the very first time I am experiencing this.

P.S. The launcher is opening/closing a shed load of tcp connections - looks like it's hunting across an array of targets and not finding what it wants.

Only seems to be pulling data from IP ending 162.112 - although multiple similarly names connections are being made when this one fails all data stops.

P.S. I have read the article and while some steps are probably helpful for some I would seriously advise that people do not follow the suggestions to disable AV or turn off firewalls, frankly that is irresponsible advice unless ZOS are willing to pick up the tab for any consequences. Far better to set up exceptions if you really need to.

    Same issue.

Have read, and applied all applicable fixes as linked by @ZOS_MollyH

Any chance of an update on this, as the problem DEFINITELY IS NOT my end.

I logged a ticket and asked for a call back from tech support. Nothing so far. I tried to repair, but that didnt work at all, I got a HTTP request failed message. figured It would be quicker re-installing the game then waiting on ZOS. Annnd I was right. I re-installed the game and things work now on the NA server. Of course I play across both servers so this morning I get up and hohoho, the same problem then goes for my EU version. So EU reinstalled,,, annnd still no call back from Zos. As a fool paying sub, I have lost a full days play without sufficient tech support ... hmmm when they do bother to call me...I'll just let the phone ring...

    ....and rethink my sub.

    Reinstalling is not an option.

Game client is simply too big to reinstall just because ZoS are incompetent.

Can someone at ZOS please tell me why the game was working perfectly (well, apart from the usual bugs and glitches) yesterday and suddenly, after this mornings patch I can no longer play because I c ant even download the patch??

The comments made to above people implying that its somehow a problem on their end is unacceptable just because the CS staff are too lazy or incompetent to fix it.

LOL sometimes I think you break stuff on purpose in order to have something to do at the next maintenance

    Please fix this soon

    Thanks

Well, all their tech support are in bed, so better to leave us to suffer with no response than kick them out of bed or tell us we will have to wait until one of them turns up a 9.30, has his coffee, reads his email, and then after his danish takes a look at the traffic logs to see which router needs a reboot.

It is simply unacceptable that 12 hours after patch nothing has been done to resolve this issue.

And the best "support" ZoS can offer is a copy-paste answer that ignores the real problem.

The problem ISN'T at the Client End.

    Its at ZoS's end.

And asking us to try fixes our end for issues their end is both dishonest and insulting.

    Should be ashamed of themselves.

Nope, nothing. Thankfully I am up and running on both servers since I could do the reinstalls on my system. I DO think the problem is partially firewall related as I got partial success when I took them completely down. I Could do this as My PC is for games only so no work or overly personal stuff to risk. But seriously the last 12hrs downloading without ANY protection, really ZOS Really?? I had to resort to doing that? I use avast for my internet security. What do you guys use??
Also, how much space have you got on the C: partiition, I did also free up more space on it just incase that was an issue too.

Anyways Do keep us upto date. I hope ZOS resolve things for you before you loose much more playtime.
Agreed, this issue so far is resolving in a VERY UNSATISACTORY manner!

    All the best!

Oh and funny, I had to edit my earlier post because the language police didn't like hohoho being spelt with spaces! Ha ha ha too funny!

I run Win 7 Home Professional with Avast Internet Security (and the Windows Firewall obvisously).

I ran the Launcher as Admin.
I checked the Firewalls' Exceptions, both had ZOS exe and launcher on "allow"
I deactivated Avast and had the Win Firewall active, nothing. WegGet blabla
I then deactivated Win Firewall as well. Nothing. WebGet blabla

basically, it's always the same: Download starts at around 11Kb/s, goes to some 20 Kb/s then drops to zero Kb/s with a WebGet failed response. Every once in a while - when I let the Launcher stay opened - this procedure repeats itself. Restarting the Launcher manually does so, too.

    Frustrating, to say the least.

^ Exactly the same for me too.

Have updated two other games that I had led get out of date while playing ESO.

As they updated fine I can happily assume that 99% (at least) of this problem with ESO is not on my end.

I may as well go play those other games, at least the Staff there care enough to respond to game breaking issues.

What really grates is that this has been going on for half a day yet we get no feedback except for the initial standard response "It's your router!", despite it clearly not being the case.

If I were NOT paying a subs I might be more blase but as I am... Ignoring us leaves us thinking you are doing NOTHING to rectify the problem.

Why would there be "additional toubleshooting measures" to try?

You are still projecting a sense that the problem is mine.

    It isn't, its yours.

Funny thing is, even after hitting "Pause" and then "Resume" will reactivate the download, although only for a very limited amount of time. Ticket was submitted.

The problem seems to have occurred on both Megaservers, NA and EU, although not for the majority of players I suppose.

Meanwhile, in New Eden, patching some 960 MBs of EVE Online on the same machine did work out. Wonder what the heck this is all about...
