Crown Store - Alliance Change

Malekithe

When the game first launched I chose my first character as a DC Templar, then after a few weeks (2-3) I switched to an EP Dragonkight, trying things out since I didn't get to play the Beta. I found a really helpful awesome EP guild that I have been a part of since shortly after my EP character and have been playing with ever since. However, my DC Templar is way more enjoyable for me to play but I can't play that character with my EP guild for obvious reasons. My suggestion below.

I've played many MMORPG's and haven't been as satisfied with them as I am with ESO. I love this game, it has everything, almost. Besides the PVP/DUELING ideas I have, the reason for this post is the addition of an option to change Alliances. Whether it's VIA the crown store, or any other option (pay?). It can even have rules such as you can only switch alliances with each character ONE time, so make it count. I risk losing my EP guild because I can't transfer my DC character over. I would love to see this as an option in ESO. Shoot, I would even pay $20 or more to switch Alliances if I could!

I 100% hope they do NOT add alliance change. It would create so much imbalance between factions.
The major pvp guilds would just switch alliances to the least populated so they can farm more ap

Imo a alliance change system is something that we don't need, since each alliance has its own races tied to it.. if you want a EP templar, then make one instead of asking for a move

You mean like they do already? It's the same as offering race changes, saves those that are going to do it anyway some time and gives ZOS some extra revenue. They would be stupid to not capitalize on these types of things.

Among all paid game services that they offer, faction change should be one of the last they should offer. So 'no' to paid alliance changes. If you want to play in a different alliance, reroll in that alliance.

Imperial edition, you can make any race in any faction you want.

There is actually no good reason to not implement it in the Crown Store.
It would make quite a lot of money for ZOS.
You can manage faction change like they did in GW2 so people don't abuse it.
There is no lore issue since there are treators in almost every quests you can find (and since you have to do every quests of every factions ...)

The reroll option could be a good one if there was no veteran rank ... (like it sould be), but there are enough topics about that already.

I preordered Imperial Edition, so I know that.. But I don't think that having a group of players that can freely choose alliance is an excuse for letting ALL players jump factions when they choose to do so.. Would effect PvP too much I think

Changing faction cause you made new friends and want to play with them, and changing faction every week to influence pvp outcome are 2 different things that can be easily managed.

I've suffered with a similar issue myself. Which actually lead me to delete my first VR12 character from EP and rerolled it to AD. Unfortunately with how repetitive the leveling is in this game I have yet to even get him to VR ranks.

I don't believe alliance changes would be too game breaking. If it's monitored (one switch per character or account) it wouldn't turn the tides in PvP too much. As many PvP players already have characters in more than one faction for dueling or friends.

    Well, it fits under 'Convenience'.

I'd rather not, but then again, I'm pretty sure they can do with it the same thing they did to Motifs, and likely will to race changes. Put it on cash shop, but at a adequate* price, like 8 or 10 thousand crowns. People who want it will still pay, and then they will shut up about it on the forums in the following weeks.

Also, 100 crowns for each visit to the barber shop ( face/body change ).
    Plz.

If they did allow paid faction changes, the price to allow a person to change a VR14 to another faction should reflect the amount of time which would be needed to level a brand new character to that level. 100,000 Crowns?

Nah, too expensive... how about 5k crowns for any toon of any lvl up to 50, plus 500 every veteran rank?

Also, only 1 character every 30 days, and that resets Alliance rank.

Different factions, same story. I'd LOVE to see faction change allowed, even with hard limitations (must complete Cadwell's Gold, must be V14, may only change once per char or account, or whatever else they come up with). This is the thing that should have been in the Crown Store since it became available, instead of all the useless fluff.

You need someone to kill to farm AP. Dead campaigns = no AP. Furthermore, there could be a limit on faction changes to prevent constant swapping. Your argument doesn't stick.

Who said anything about jumping factions at will? That would indeed be nonsensical, but I've seen NOBODY asking for that. Also, anyone can get the Imperial Edition now, since it's been added to the Crown Store.

QFT. That is absolutely unreasonable. Yes, switching factions does provide the convenience of not having to level to VR14, but you know what? I have several characters that are in the early VRs that I'd like to bring over to my main faction. It's about playing the characters that I made and that I relate to, not just about saving a few weeks' grinding.

Like they do now? What? You still have to level your character.

Like others have said, no thats a bad idea. Top PVP guilds would just switch whenever. The only way to do it would be by putting a giant crown amount on it. And even then, it still could and probably would be abused. Certainly locking it to only one switch or a switch every couple months would also need to be implemented, and we all know how well ZOS implements ideas...

Are all the champion point passives even working correctly at this point?

Why people just keeping speaking about pvp players who would "switch whenever" ?
We are talking about a service you would need to pay (like 5k crown) and usable only once every 2 or 3 months maybe.
You could also reset PVP ranks as it was suggested earlier to limit the PVPers migration.

I started as EP and got 3 characters there but recently found a really nice guild Covenant side. I did reroll and made a character there, but I'd really like to play my ep charatcer with them...I don't mind rerolling and leveling to 50, but there is no way i up 3 char to v14 with the actual xp system.
I don't know why this is an issue for anyone as it just improves the game for people who wanna play together.

100,000 Crowns is reasonable. It costs $60 to boost a character to level 90 in WoW. That isn't even the maximum level (level 100 is the maximum) and it is much easier to level to 100 in WoW than it is to reach VR14 in ESO. The Crown store price should reflect that.

having to go to vr14 get all the alliance war and skills unlocked all the quest acheives, emperor passives. undaunted... ect. i whould rather throw $ to faction change then reroll and go through all that crap again
players can and should be able to jump factions at will, but if there willing to throw say $30 or more at it to do it.. then who are u to say no its shouldent be aloud. hell even when i played wow over 2 years, i faction changed like over 10 times to play with friends i enjoy. the crown store $ idea is a barrier really, if u can afford it and willing to spend the $, then by all means do it.. i support the crown store faction change.. plz zos implement it.

In my opinion, alliance changes should be allowed but only after the character has completed Cadwells gold and silver. Once you have played through each faction in the game and seen what they are about you should get the option to switch alliances. I would like this to be a crown store item and with a limit of once every 6 months per character.

Most players chose an alliance for whatever reason and now they have met good people in their guild they would like to play with without re-rolling. This feature should be added to the game or allow guild mates to run content together no matter the alliance.

The only way I could see this working is if it was cost restrictive (I like the ideas above about 5000 initially then 500 per vet level) AND it was only from High population factions to Low population factions.

Otherwise everyone would get on one faction and take over all the servers just farming people who are new or don't know better. (easy kills)

How could you actually do that, what would happen the Quest you have already completed! Would you return to level 1 to start the process again.(may as well create an new Alt!)

In this case I believe what you're asking for is a nightmare to sort due to the complexity involved and lets face it, ZOS still hasn't managed to fix bugs that have been here since launch, so they definitely don't have the expertise to do this...

Im for it if they make it so you can't move to an alliance which is already strong. Why not offer allaince change at a lower cost when moving to the weakest alliance and normal cost to the second best alliance and not being able to move to the best alliance. One alliance change a month only.

That would be good for balance.

I don't mind having all my quests reseted (except for the main ones because of the skill point gain), since they are all optional quests. It would be like the pvp rank resets and I don't know if pvp guilds would want to lose their rank and quests just to gain some sort of advantage in Cyrodiil.
