How should I go about research?

How should I go about item research?

Lately I been just researching whatever I don't have, but I've come to point where things take 2 days or so for the research to complete.

Is nirn very important research component? I'm only lvl 27 right now and don't have enough gold to buy the nirn items so I can research them..
Should I take a chill pill and not do any research due to fact time I get to high enough level and get nirn items research will probably take 15 or 30 days?

I've been playing for about 2 months now, and only lvl 27. I have to say I have a TON of alliance points, like 110k, but my gold is only 15k. But, should I just stop doing research and get the nirn out of the way than continue to research as normal?

I don't really have any traits I prefer over others atm, they all seem pretty balanced so I just research whatever, trying to avoid the reduce stamina cost ones.
I don't want to make another tradeskill character either. I just use my other characters for hirelings.

What you think? Stop researching and research nirn or continue to research and not worry about nirn trait?

I wouldn't worry about nirn at the start because you'll likely want to craft nirn stuff in a nice set that requires lots of traits to be able to craft it. So if you learn nirn early, you can only make gear that would be a waste of the nirncrux, or for other people to research.

If you want a nirnhoned set, it's easy enough to find someone who can craft it for you.

The point of research is to unlock craftable sets. You should have an idea of which set(s) you plan to use, and what kind of armor and weapons you intend to use. Then focus your research on getting the required number of traits researched for those items. It's common to use Infused on major armor pieces and Divines on minor pieces. The other most common armor traits are Reinforced and Impenetrable, though the latter was mostly PVP and seems to have fallen out of favor. For weapons, Sharpened and Precise are common. Just make sure to cover these traits as you do your research. There is really no need to save a large number of items that have researchable traits, if you are active, you will constantly find pieces with the trait you want. In a pinch, you can find items for a few hundred gold through chat or guild stores, or guild mates.

As far as nirnhoned goes, unless you find a secret gold stash, best to put that on the back burner. Each nirnhone piece will run you 12,000g for armor and 17,000g for weapons ON THE LOW END, IF YOU ARE LUCKY. You can't farm nirncrux until you access Craglorn at vet level, and nirncrux is among the highest priced mats, so buying is not a good option until you have a fat bank.

Don't leave Nirnhoned for 9th, it's too useful, but there's no need to worry about acquiring it at level 27. As suggested above I'd wait until you're at least veteran 1, so you can access Craglorn and farm the Nirncruxes yourself if you'd like. In the meantime, try to skip the least requested traits; Sturdy, Well Fitted, and Exploration on armors, Charged, Powered, and Weighted on weapons, and Training on both. Also, unfortunately, Ourorboros' prices are out of date. I've been clearing research items for 18k and 25k nearly as quickly as I can buy the stones. At those prices, it would cost nearly 700k to obtain one item of each type to research. It's not something that needs to be done all at once, of course.

If money isn't an issue later on, I'd say get Nirnhoned as your sixth trait, I'm requested to make 3-6 trait sets with it frequently. If it is, 7th-8th is just fine as well.

lol, woops I truly thought this was crafting forums.

Thanks for replies. I'll work on divines and better armor for armor traits, and spell resistance.
For weapons ill get the damage bonuses and spell penetration.

Was just curious if I got those if I should continue or hold for getting nirncrux traits.
I play like 2-5 hours when I do play, but somedays I just have time just to get items from hirelings and research traits
If you was curious about me playing 2 months and only lvl 27.
