Unlimited Amount Of Guild Stores.

I HATE that we are limited to only 5 guild stores! I can hardly ever find what I'm looking for! I even search guild kiosks and still cant find some things I need. :/
So, why cant we have as many guild stores as we want? Why be so very limited to only 5 guilds? I'm sick and tired of not being able to find things cuz I'm so limited by guild stores, guild kiosks, & shouting in each zone in HOPES that I will find what I need! My dream would be to have a faction AH but I know this will never happen sadly. AH is the best way to go for finding what you need! One stop shop and not this frustrating limited crap!!!

What exactly are you looking for that you can't find in the first 5 stores you are searching?

Mind you, some things are hard to find. I recently went through 2/3 of the guild stores searching for a nirnhoned medium helm for research with no luck.

The heavy hitting NA stores are in Crag and Reapers (possibly elsewhere). That is if you're looking for upper tier gear. You can also zone request in Crag or Stormhaven for rare items that usually don't find their way to the stores.

Yes, another Auction House thread disguised with a different topic title. Pretty indifferent here about having AH in the game (I'd be fine either way) ... but let's not clutter up the forums with more threads.

@Taleof2Cities surely the presence of another thread on the same basic subject is indicative of just how badly ZOS need to engage with the playerbase in dialogue on how to make improvements; whether they be to the current system, or changing the system to make it more inclusive, user friendly and functional.

I started off thinking an centralised AH was needed, now I'm shying away from that towards more localised trade hubs, but the current system is pretty untenable really and does need change.

With AH prices will fall even lower than now, and there will be no reason to sell at all.
And you will be compelled just to farm items you need by yourself.

Attempting to base the player economy around the inconsistent and undependable nature of guild stores was a mistake from the beginning. Me and many others have tried to tell them that since beta. This continues to be an obstacle for newer players and helps to drive them away.

ESO would have been more successful had they admitted this mistake and corrected it. Instead they continue to stubbornly cling to it. Why I don't know.

I would save yourself the time and trouble and just forget guild stores. Invest in your crafting and scavenge as much as possible. You can rob towns for gold now - so become a thief and use the black market. Guild Stores are not dependable and often a waste of time.

You fail to see the master plan. What ZoS is doing is called customer filtering.

Those new players willing to put up with the joys of the trade system will put up with anything and therefore be a good match for a long term customer.

Those that don't will simply be filtered out.

    It makes perfect sense!

Their argument is that because of the megaserver a global market would introduce too much competition into the market place and drive prices down to an unreasonable degree.

The problem with their argument is A: It wouldn't and B: Even if it did it would still be better than what they have now: since many players don't even bother with the economy at all because it's a waste of time.

This is a case where the supposed cure is worse than the disease.

Wildstar has an AH and a Megaserver.

    The economy didn't die.
    The game engine didn't crank.
    The servers didn't burn out.
    The database didn't lock-up.
    The world didn't end.

The "Megaserver + AH can't work" argument is so dead that only a necromancer has any hope of resurrecting it.

I have played a couple games with an AH and prices for things was fine. In ESO I think they will have to adjust the drop rates of items to make them harder to get but after that the economy will be just fine. I think a big mistake that Zenimax did was to make crafting so damn easy! If it was hard there would not be so many people with crafting leveled up and die hard crafters would have a nice way to make some money. Take several items in the game and make them only drop from certain high level monsters or from group dungeons. That way farmers have something good to farm and crafters can buy those items to craft with. But the crafted items NEED to be worth it to make them. They also need to make it possible to synth a high quality version of the items they are crafting. Then those items will be highly sought after.

The way things are now is frustrating because trying to find what you want is VERY time consuming AND there is no guarantee that you will actually find what your looking for after wasting ALL that time in vain! AH will most always have what you need and only takes a min. or two to look it up and then your on your way to getting back to having fun! lmao....lets apply the ESO guild store function to real life and see how well that works out! ~.^ Can you imagine driving around in your car trying to find that nice steak you wanna throw on the barby? But your not sure where it will actually be AND you may not even find it at all cuz your 5 guilds dont have it and you really dont wanna have to drive out of state to look at the guild kiosks. FUN!

Well you raise two interesting points.

1-I am so glad they made crafting easy, after having the horrible taste to make armor not "level" with you. In Morrowind, I could wear the same set ... period. Here too soon after I've been given some item from a quest that I really like - that has a story to it - that I would LOVE my character to use forever ... it's no good any more.

My solution to that would be to add a crown store item that levels (and binds to character) items that are not part of sets. But that's another thread.

2-Finding what you want is time consuming .... the things that have frustrated me the most have been things like recipes, and the unexpected upside to this is having had really nice people come out of the woodwork and help me out. That's been incredible.

As for a global house - If you think price undercutting is bad now ... just wait.

And also - not lore appropriate.
Tenesi Faryon of Telvanni - Dunmer Sorceress who deliberately sought sacrifice into Cold Harbor to rescue her beloved.
Hisa Ni Caemaire - Altmer Sorceress, member of the Order Draconis and Adept of the House of Dibella.
Broken Branch Toothmaul - goblin (for my goblin characters, I use either orsimer or bosmer templates) Templar, member of the Order Draconis and persistently unskilled pickpocket
Mol gro Durga - Orsimer Socerer/Battlemage who died the first time when the Nibenay Valley chapterhouse of the Order Draconis was destroyed, then went back to Cold Harbor to rescue his second/partner who was still captive. He overestimated his resistance to the hopelessness of Oblivion, about to give up, and looked up to see the golden glow of atherius surrounding a beautiful young woman who extended her hand to him and said "I can help you". He carried Fianna Kingsley out of Cold Harbor on his shoulder. He carried Alvard Stower under one arm. He also irritated the Prophet who had intended the portal for only Mol and Lyris.
    ***
Order Draconis - well c'mon there has to be some explanation for all those dragon tattoos.
House of Dibella - If you have ever seen or read "Memoirs of a Geisha" that's just the beginning...
Nibenay Valley Chapterhouse - Where now stands only desolate ground and a dolmen there once was a thriving community supporting one of the major chapterhouses of the Order Draconis

At some point...maybe we will realize that our trading guild ideas aren't working. We might need to find a normal guild with crafters and ppl gathering mats to build up the guild group

It seemed like a good idea but it's not working out that way
