Breath of life. not really that instant

there is a good 0.5 seconds or more delay between when i press the button and i get the heal. is this simply lag? it plays the animation but it does the healy sound at the end. doesnt seem that instant to me=S

    its not instant, there is animation delay, which is a small hidden cast time.

    I get the same with Green dragon blood but assumed this was due to latency as im several thousand Km from the server.

    Gina at one point already stated that they're looking to shorten the animation time.

    There's really no need to shorten the animation. The heal could just be given before the animation is played.

    My question is, how did they mess this up? I know it looks nice to sync up animations with the effects as they take place, but doing so at the cost of responsiveness doesn't seem like a fair trade-off.

    You pretty much have to cancel the animation with block now.

    You will only do half the healing if you are not block-cancelling BoL.

    Does BOL fire off any faster, though? Or does it still actually heal at the delayed time but the animation is cancelled? I know I have to do that for blazing shields animation but man is it ever annoying.

    Last I heard on the Templar bug thread is that their great solution idea is to 'correct the stated cast time' guess its easier than actually fixing it :(

    I know blazing shield gives me a damage shield immediately even if the animation hasn't happened (0 damage received before the animation). The delay on BoL does seem long in heated PvE fights but maybe the math is hidden behind all the graphics if you get what I'm saying.

    Its because animation canceling is Encouraged/supported.
    Forgot to include how to do It in the tutorial,also forgot to add it into the console tutorial...
    Block cancelling doesnt seem as responsive on console tho, only time i coukd really get it working was thru light attack weaving.

    Just intresting considering controls on console cant be changed, block and attack are on the triggers so makes it harder to get button to register quickly enough.

    Imbsure thats all just coincidence tho. ;)

    It is about as "Instant" as the Teleport Strike ability for Nightblades, sadly. >.> Few abilities are truly "Instant", even when they list it as such, kind of sneaky. :/

    Nothing worse that LYING tool tips. Animation times ARE cast times. If ZOS really multiplied attributes x10 to more accurately display small changes, then please report cast times in fractions of a second if they are still there but less than a second.

    DK animations are crisp and all their abilities happen instantly. Not so for templars and sorcs who have crappy animations.

    They messed with a ton of animations for no good reason.
