Taking Gates and Scrolls?

I'm relatively new to the game (especially PvP) and today my alliance was able to push to one of the opposing faction's gates. Upon arriving none of us knew how to take the gate or the scroll behind it. Once we destroyed the door and tried to take the gate we discovered that the npc's at the gate continue to respawn. I was just wondering what we needed to do to take the gate and then the scroll. Thanks!

    You can't take the gate. Just run on past it and head for the scroll. To take the scroll, you just need someone to walk up to it and press your "activate" key. You will perform a ~3 second animation before picking it up which will be interrupted if you take damage and will have to start again, so it's a good idea to get rid of the NPCs guarding the scroll and any enemy players around it.
